Honestly, I never cared for most of the Stevie Ray collection. I don't know why....
Same. Is it his voice? Is it the music? Just doesn't grab me.

I know.
It bothers me a little because the dude has a shit-load of talent. But that all goes back to, you like what you like....you fall in love with who you fall in love with.

Oh man, this hurts to hear. SRV is one of THE best guitarists of the last century. Pls watch this - live in Austin - Jimi Hendrix Voo Doo Child - I think it's better than Jimi's version. yeah - I'm saying that in here - this performance is insane. If this doesn't do it for you, well, Barbie is out in theaters. :D

SRV playing a song from another artist that I don't care for wont help.
But I did listen to it.

Sorry. The ears want what the ears want.

I appreciate his talent, no question. The guitar skills are off the chart. But for whatever reason, it doesn't grab me. Not a knock on him.

Both fair points. Mostly, to me, it's about recognizing and appreciating incredible skill. SRV is an incredible craftsman - just a stunning talent.

Not to be too picky but, walk don't run surf music? Secret agent man?

Speaking of surf music, once caught a dick dale concert, that was fun

Further side note, the first concert i went to as a kid was a kjr summer spectacular, had Jan and dean, more surf music. Also had the Shangri-las, sam the sham and the pharohs. Sam got into a shouting match with the crowd, that show was fun too.

There's the lineup, 1965 summer spectacular, Shangri-las not listed, they were there
