The Most Exciting Division Race in M's History!

Post by Hy Feiber » Wed Sep 20, 2023 9:18 pm

I can recall no other.

With 10 games left, two teams are 1/2 game out.

And the M's play Texas 7, Houston 3.

Amazing.

I don't see how Toronto can get past the brutal East till the end.

Maybe Jerry and Stanton were playing chess. Not wanting the team to be to good clinching before the last 7 game homestand. This way they maximize attendance and revenues.

Bluejays have 5 games against the Yankees who are not good at all and 6 games against the Rays who are very good. I see them finishing at 90 wins. If the M's get to 91 wins they probably win the division anyway because that would mean they won the last 3 series.

And the Rays continue to be a great team, even without Wander Franco:

Do they need to sweep the Texas teams to win the division or just take the series?

It all depends on what Houston does. If Ms win 4/7 against Texas and 2/3 against Houston, they will beat Texas for the wildcard. Houston plays KC and Arizona. Mariners will need help to win the division, even if they were to sweep them, unless they win the next 10 games of course…

The Great Mascot Race
M's last 10: 3At Tex, Seattle's Home 3 against Houston and 4 vs Tex

Texas: has the 7 vs us and 3 vs LAA

Houston: 3 vs KC, 3 At us , 3 at AZ

Toronto: 5 against Yanks 6 vs Rays they are on the road now and then finish at home.

You know it will all be decided by playoff teams fighting it out with playoff teams or the one's that came up just short. Spare the 3 KC games but maybe they can be pesky and get a game or two for us.

Be interesting if it ended in a three way tie
