Wow, USC dropped 3 spots! We are #1 in the P12 now obviously.Walla Walla Dawg II wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 6:18 pmOnly moved up 1 spot, but we got a first place vote.

And yet, on ESPN, they are saying Whoregon has a better chance to beat us than us beat them.D-train wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 6:22 pmWow, USC dropped 3 spots! We are #1 in the P12 now obviously.Walla Walla Dawg II wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 6:18 pmOnly moved up 1 spot, but we got a first place vote.
I think it's 49.5% to 50.5%.

And 1 vote in the coaches poll.
I wonder which coach gave us that vote.
Oh, and for anyone that wants the breakdown of the AP votes, the link is below.

Wilner from The Mercury Press in San Jose voted us 4th all season until this last week when he moved us down to 5th. He had Ohio jump us....what a dipshit.

Michigan State getting pummeled by Maryland probably took away any chance of UW moving ahead of Penn St and FSU.
Re: WE got a 1st place vote in the AP
Yeah but none of it matters given the CFP. If we beat Oregon we will be in playoff position.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 11:50 pmMichigan State getting pummeled by Maryland probably took away any chance of UW moving ahead of Penn St and FSU.

Re: WE got a 1st place vote in the AP
I am getting kind of tired of hearing everyone talk about how this team is making them feel like the early 90's again.
I call bullshit on that!!
Those teams in the early 90's were DEFENSIVE juggernauts, not offensive juggernauts. They would go onto the field and dare you to snap the ball. The other teams ALL knew they would bet an ass whipping just by being on the same field and daring to snap the ball.
You want proof......
That's when the "All I saw was purple" quote was born.
But that was our Dawgs then.
The Tui team of 2000/2001 has more similarities to this team; a more offensive team with a decent/good defense.
The true comparison to a "more current" team would be the Joe Burrow team at LSU a few years ago. Nobody knew where Burrow came from, but all of a sudden, he was a passing juggernaut with a decent/good defense.
Comments?
