Current playoff situation

Here are the scenarios written out including 3 team tie breakers. I think the scenario highlighted in red is the most feasible path to the playoffs. Win tonight, split with the Rangers and Hope that Arizona can take one game against the Astros. If they lose tonight the odds are extremely long.


If the M's go 5-0
M's are AL west champs

If the M's go 4-1
M's are AL west champs if Texas goes 1-4 and and Houston goes 3-1
M's are AL west champs if Texas goes 0-5 and Houston goes 3-1 or worse
M's are Wildcard 2 if Toronto goes 2-3 or worse and Houston goes 3-1 or worse
M's are wildcard 2 if Texas goes 0-5 and Houston goes 4-0 and Toronto goes 2-3 or worse
M's are wildcard 3 if Houston goes 3-1 or worse and Toronto goes 3-2 or better
M's are Wildcard 3 if Houston goes 4-0 and Toronto goes 2-3 or worse
M's are wildcard 3 if Texas goes 0-5 and Houston goes 4-0 and Toronto goes 3-2 or better
M's are eliminated if Houston goes 4-0 and Toronto goes 3-2 or better

If the M's go 3-2
M's cannot win AL west

And after how great August was? We'd probably be in here talking about "what ifs" even if they had played .500! Just an insane collapse. The thing is, this is what I expected. I just didn't expect us to suck hard, then get red hot, then suck hard again. I totally expected us to compete but not make the playoffs. Just didn't do enough in the off season. That said, I sure allowed myself to buy in after August!
