GAME THREAD ~ I am seeing this thru to the sweet or the bitter end 9.30.23
Re: GAME THREAD ~ I am seeing this thru to the sweet or the bitter end 9.30.23
Man, this is pathetic. Teo looks like he is crying. They are just going belly-up. No fight. Julio has been chasing out of the zone all day. All the Rangers did was get 2 strike then weight for all the dumb ass M's pitcher to try to make them chase up or outside the zone and then 3-2 counts and walks. I have hated that get to 1-2 and then throw 2 balls and come back to a walk or pitch count killer.

7/33 is 90%? Man, you stuck at math.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:12 amHe had one superstar month.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:09 amYeah, it’s the guy with 32 HR, 103 RBI, .823 OPS playing the best defense in MLB in CF that’s the problem… for Castillo it’s only the season stats that matter though, Julio let’s cherry pick the times he struggled, because that’s the reason the mariners are missing the postseason…Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 1:58 am
Great and in April May and June when he hit for a .730 OPS and everyone was saying “don’t worry! It’s early! These games don’t matter!” When we’re at the end of Sept and will likely fall 1-2 games short?
Superstars don’t have erratic falloff’s for prolonged periods of time. He needs elevate his head and performance starting the day this offseason begins and on a BIG way.
9 runs in 8.2 innings in the most critical part of the season. There’s your “ace”.
One.
Castillo goes out there and gets them 7 IP's and 2 earned run ball in 90% of his starts.
Julio got them a 30ish day stretch.

And I really enjoy you posting some bullshit about Noelvi Marte every time one of the best pitchers in baseball doesn't have his best stuff.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:19 am7/33 is 90%? I hope Marte crashes and burns just so I don't have to read it anymore.

There's a hole in my hope
and I can't fill it in
My hopes just got dashed
Fill that hole with some gin
At least my game thread record will finish at 7-6. That winning record should help me secure a bigger contract next season with the Forum Brass.

If Castillo wasn’t crashing and burning, you wouldn’t hear about Noelvi Marte, that D-train brought up, not me…Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:23 amAnd I really enjoy you posting some bullshit about Noelvi Marte every time one of the best pitchers in baseball doesn't have his best stuff.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:19 am7/33 is 90%? This game just shows that when we don't have excellent pitching we cannot score enough runs to make a comeback and win a game.
THe pressure of a playoff game exposes team weaknesses. We all know that offense has been the main issue all season long.
How does a team like the Rangers with horrible pitching win the division??? They outslug you.
They spent money and acquired the bats needed to make noise. Jerry and the Mariners front office imho did not.
The players themselves underperformed as well. Ty France, Geno, Teoscar....I for one expected more.
We've seen more pop outs, ground out balls, double play ground balls, just freakin black holes in the lineup most days with men in scoring position.
We all hoped Kelenic would grow up and do great things....never really developed this year. He literally kicked the can on his season.
Thank God for Huskies football and the Seahawks!

D-train asked a question. And I replied, since then you have just been trying to poke the bear by excising a shit final 2 games from a supposed ace. Castillo did great against bad teams this year, Bert when mariners really needed him, he completely choked, much like almost everyone in the team except JP.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:23 am

With guys like Ty, Geno, Kelenic, and Teoscar performing so far below what we hoped it's hard to pin any of the seasons problems on either Castillo or Julio imo.
