Jerry biggest line of Bullshit in the entire Crock Pot of Bullshit
Re: Jerry biggest line of Bullshit in the entire Crock Pot of Bullshit
The very nature of sports is you give it your all EVERY play, every game, every series, every season. You give it 110% and leave it all out on the field.
The fact that Jerry thinks it is a better to slow play it, be cautious, let things play out, don't rock the boat, be conservative, stick to the weak ass plan no matter what flies in the face of what every real fan and player is about and it is lame AF.

Thought we had concluded the orioles were bold by tanking multiple seasons
Re: Jerry biggest line of Bullshit in the entire Crock Pot of Bullshit
That is normally how it is done. Astros did the same. Jerry can't even win for losing. Even has to half ass tanking. lolDonn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 12:06 pmThought we had concluded the orioles were bold by tanking multiple seasons

Jerry had to reinvent the wheel and call it a "step back"
He is such a complete clown. Other than actual criminals I don't think I have every respected a human less in my life and this week everyone got to see and hear what I have known for YEARS.

It's not tanking when you trade away overbloated contracts and actually spending when you have your core. Jerry did that with one contract, then stopped (Cano). I've been giving Dipoto a pass up until this year because everything showed up to this offseason that the plan was to spend at the right moment after you've built the core. add onto it with FA. Instead, he only claims to be spending by paying the young core way too early... which is the only advantage we had built from being an awful team for awhile. And he refuses to add on with big FAs... If the Orioles don't add on after this season and try to do the same thing as Jerry and say Baltimore fans should be grateful for just finally not losing 100 games, then they are basically Dipoto and M's clones, we'll see.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 12:06 pmThought we had concluded the orioles were bold by tanking multiple seasons
But it's stupid to double down on a terrible tactic that didn't work this year, while simultaneously killing the advantage you have of building a young cost-controlled core. It would be like paying Russell Wilson 40 mil a year during those superbowl runs and having to break up the Legion of Boom because of that money being invested into a young and athletic qb. Bad for a winning championship team, GREAT if you want an argument from a GM to say "we ARE spending. We just spent it on homegrown talent and not FA. And that's key to our success! you should thank us!" bah, we'll thank you after we at least get to watch a World Series appearance (We've been abused so bad as fans, that we would be pretty psyched about an appearance, and don't dare dream of a win until they show us they can actually get to the damn dance)
Dipoto wanted to give himself 3 scapegoats with Evan White, Kelenic, and Julio. Of course, he does not aim for them to be scapegoats, because if they all met or exceeded their projections, Dipoto would look like a genius. But so far, the only one who looks awesome is Julio. And if Julio continues to only rely on his athleticism, and Dipoto refuses to spend to help Julio out, instead of relying on him to carry the team like the next fucking Babe Ruth, we would be triple screwed with those contract offers to those who just show amazing promise and athleticism without consistency and health.
Of course I hope Julio is the next Acuna... but we'll see. (Acuna got a Matt Olsen to help him out too. Someone asking for a contract that Dipoto wouldn't dare go after...) I think Julio can do it and earn every bit of his contract, but if he doesn't, with White and Kelenic being more problem than solution, that would be strike 3 for this terrible experiment Dipoto concocted to try and look like a fucking genius. And the sword cuts both ways. Right now, he looks like a pompous fool that is a disgrace to the spirit of not just baseball, but sports in general.
The only way I could think about believing in this team again now is if they at least get in the top 10 of payroll. Like miraculously getting Ohtani and others to help break our offense out of the shitter. But until then, it seems Jerry is quite confident that a Wong, La Stella, Pollack and Teo was enough and the right call that he would do again. It was all the players fault, not his. And we should thank him for that.

Servais comments after Cal's just seemed nermal. But Dipoto's comments since then have been terrible.

Jerry got the M's to the playoffs, but he shanked one last offseason, and came up short during the trade deadline.
Re: Jerry biggest line of Bullshit in the entire Crock Pot of Bullshit
Looks like Manny is fixing to be the manager of a team that can be as awesome as the Minnesota Twins and the Seattle Mariners are every year... owners who don't give a shit about championships but need a sellable product will looove this tweet.

Jerry traded this guy for Phelps who pitched 8.2 innings in relief for us in 2017.
