But the truth is more mundane, and thus more troublesome: The Huskies’ struggles in their eventual 15-7 victory over Arizona State were the result of time-honored football deficiencies — poor decisions, poor execution and, perhaps most glaringly, poor tackling. And you can’t say this very often under this Husky coaching regime, perhaps never before: The Huskies were also out-prepared by the Sun Devils, who figured out a way to slow down UW’s offense that no other team this year had managed — certainly not one with a 1-6 record.
That's from Stone's article. It was crazy. The tackling was just crazy. We'd have a guy bottled up, and instead of losing yards, he'd gain five. I felt like the exact same shit was happening against the Cardinals yesterday for the Hawks. That is so hard to watch. Why does everyone think they have to deliver the knock out blow? The Cardinals snapped a ball over Dobbs head in the second half, Jamal Adams flew right by the QB trying to make a hit. I don't think he even TRIED to wrap him up. Luckily Dobbs still lost several yards because a ton of Jamal's team mates showed up. But I just don't get it. Get your arms around the guy and bring him down! It has to be the fact that they NEVER work on this anymore because they barely practice. I get safety, but I wonder how much safer the game is now that guys don't know how to tackle because they never do it?

Bad tackling but 17 combined points so didn't hurt them thankfully. I am more concerned about ZERO offensive TDs for the best offense in college football. I would have bet my life against that. Also the Hawks need to be more predictable than run up the middle twice and side ways pass in the red zone.

The bad tackling contributed in a few ways. Keeping the offense off the field and flipping the field. We had horrible field position all game. A LOT of that was due to the offense fucking up, I totally get that. But this was a bad rushing offense, and if we had wrapped up and tackled?

My point wasn't to take the heat off the offense. The offense owes the defense a HUGE thank you. But, imagine what it looks like defensively if we tackle the way we should?

I played defense when I was 13 yo. A 93 lb DE. I just didn't have the aggression required for the job but did have 1 career sack. I got to the Tree of a QB and wrapped my arms around his shins and he literally just toppled over a like a tree being felled in the forest. lol

Can't believe I had the instinct to wrap the guy up but NFL players still don't.

We all need to write this game off as a Clunker of a Game and move on. I'm tired of thinking about it.

That's what I like....positive comments, not getting into the minutiae of why we had a Clunker.

UW will trail 23 to 17 at the half and pull it out 37-30.
Not a bad prediction other than the magnitude of scoring, huh?

btw I woke up Sunday morning early but wasn't feeling well but thought three hours on the couch watching us kick ass and Penix lock up the Heisman would be the perfect elixir.

by halftime I was like:
