The issue was the interceptions. Remember teams were dropping an extra safety into coverage and Russell was throwing interceptions. That's when they had their falling out. Again, viewing Russell with the broncos I can understand them not being comfortable running the offense

the star quarterback met with coaches prior to a Week 11 matchup with the Cardinals to offer schematic suggestions for jump-starting the offense. While the coaches heard him out, they apparently dismissed his advice and Wilson angrily "stormed out" of the room

Midway through "let russ cook" season defenses went into a cover two look - wilson never recovered. He thrives in a cover zero, as all long ball throwers do, and can somewhat navigate a cover one on a scramble drill. That was also the covid season - there was no preaseason and no practices - defenses across the league were gawd awful - until about midway through the season when they started to catch up. Seattle had the absolute worst defense in the league and, literally, at the time they got thier shit together, so did other units across the league - that's when Wilson cratered. Wilson was exposed and he never recovered.

Again, you have to ignore all context in order to sell the 'pete sucks' narrative we hear after every single loss. I love how vehemently alllllllllll context is ignored on here over and over and over and over and over. Oh, right, because that's the only way to sell this nonsense. Russ was exposed as a one read dude, everyone across the country - except this forum - knew this - so the coaches adjusted - like they are supposed to do. Not completely true. I mean, Russ doesn’t call the plays. There is a reason Schotty lost his job. And it STILL doesn’t explain the fact that he blamed the offense for losing 34 to 31 in OT to AZ or for losing 44 to 34 to Buffalo. And, again, not the fucking point. He steps in when Russ is setting records, but is fine with Geno right now? The dude is good to great at a lot of stuff, but Pete is a fucking looney tune when it comes to offense. And? Bipolar. Wilson's ability to throw the long ball changed mainly because Buffalo figured out that if you blitz every down Seattle had no answers. There were simply no plays in Shit-in-header's "playbook" that were designed to punish the blitz. They just assumed Wilson could use his feet to buy extra time with 2-3 unblocked defenders running at him.

The Seahawks are now the 30th ranked team both in converting 3rd downs and allowing 3rd down conversions. Pathetic...

This might be at least acceptable if they were holding opponents to a low "yards per play" but they are middle of the pack at 5.1. On offense they are 10th at 5.4.
