I looked at Geno's College stats and could not believe my eyes.

Sr. year

13 Games 369 Completions 518 Attempts 71.2% 4205 Yards 8.1 Yard/Attempt 42 TDs 6 INTs 163.9 Rating

For reference

Penix last 13 games

13 Games 327 Completions 487 Attempts 67.1% 4610 Yards 9.4 Yard/Attempt 34 TDs 10 INTs 169.1 Rating

Geno had a good college career
Geno Smith's college statistics sparkled.

He was widely considered a Heisman contender heading into his senior year because of his gaudy statistics, and he was briefly the front-runner after an eight-touchdown outburst against Baylor early in 2012.

Inconsistent play caused him to fall off as the season wore on, but he wound up with a great stat line for the season.
Wow that last line hits home.

So, did Geno do okay today. His QBR was 50.6. Howell's was 51.

There are times he could. But he isn't that quick and not very ballsy.
Pete and Waldron had a plan today to deal with the all out blitzes they knew the Redskins would try to copy from the Ravens.
The screens or whatever did work a little. Any other team I'd be anxious to see what happens next week with more practice,
but they will probably scrap the plays next week.

That looks about right. Howell was marginally better than Geno today.

Facing one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL certainly can take a little pressure off. He had a good amount of pocket time and still seemed to use every moment of it.

Geno had a decent second half, had to win the game twice and did it.
