I think this has more to do with acquiring a player that has minor league options. I'm not in favor that bullshit. That's what Ryan Bliss is for.

FUCK THIS FRONT OFFICE!!!rockycola wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 2:32 amBAD Fucking trade!
Can you say, Jack Mayfield, Andrew Romine, Taylor Motter (shoulda traded for his wife ), Mike Freeman, Danny Espinosa, Kolten Wrong?
Campbell will be a quality reliever (and he's no where near his apex yet) for 10-12 years.
Those Red Sox brass have their glasses clinking in a Boston pub right now as they glug down a few pints of
Spencer Brewery Trappist Ale
Patersbier
ABV: 6.5%
whilst singing the famous, "Bendover da Barrell Dipoto" tavern song.
Sheesh . If Urias could have a season like he did in '21 (.249 \ .345 \ .445 \ .789 - 23 HRs, 75 RBI's) with the Brewers, then that's an okay. Maybe JD thought he was trading for his brother, 29 y.o. Ramón Urías, Orioles' starting 3Bman who also plays 2B, 1B, & SS. He, at least got a GG in '22.
We'll see, might be an overreaction.

Did we just move up to 86%? Jerry being Jerry. If you can't bring in a true big time player then simply leave it alone. Sometimes I think he believes if he goes big time out on a limb and it doesn't work he gets axed so he pulls this BS and hides in mediocrity
Re: M’s get Luis Urias from red sox
Really didn’t think I could dislike Dipoto anymore than I do, well I was wrong.
Man he likes marginal at best players—Toro, Canzone and more.

Morosi
it may not be the most satisfying thing for fans to hear that you’re going to have to be patient and wait for maybe the third or fourth or fifth option, but as we sit today, I believe, Bob and Dave, that’s just the reality (for the Mariners).”

Oh boy! I can see this propelling us to the World Series next year! Another guy who swings for the fences! Yea! (/sarc)
Re: M’s get Luis Urias from red sox
Obviously it means patience is satisfying......or the 3rd or 4th or 5th option (rebuilding while we string along Julio, Cal, George, JP, et al) is truly another 3 or 4 or 5 year plan to be mediocre, while profits are good. What the hell is different from the last 5 or 15 or 30 years?Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 6:16 amI really don't know what this quote is conveying.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 5:43 amMorosi

It's in the wrong thread I guess. He's saying he doesn't expect the mariners to be in on the top FA options, if ohtani is first, Bellinger second and so on. Off season is shaping up nicely, just have some patiencePharmabro wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 6:16 amI really don't know what this quote is conveying.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 5:43 amMorosi
