On a different, but related note: this plan would work. There are different iterations of it, but it adds WAR without really adding a lot of cost.

Believe it or not the current WAR projections for us are pretty favorable. 37.8. Add 7.5 to that and we are at 45.2. Replacement players are expected to win 48 games so 48+45 = 93 Wins

FWIW FanGraphs and Steamer project Spencer Steer, Mike Ford and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. with a combined 2024 WAR of 3.0, not 7.5
