They opened it up last year. In 15 games they were 4 and 11.
Russ threw 16 TDs and 11 INTs. He completed a career low 60.5% of his passes. They have simplified things, and he now has 20 TDs and only 4 INTs in 11 games. I don't see the logic in saying they are going to change what is working!? This would be very similar to Pete saying he wasn't comfortable with how they were winning when they started 7 and 1, scaled back, limped into the playoffs and got thumped by a below average Rams team at home.

Broncos start out 1 and 5...rattle off 6 straight, so let's change things up!?

Russ is 21st in yards, almost 400 behind Geno!
Despite that, he is 6th in TDs and 5th in QB rating. He has done this by being 22nd it attempts. There are 32 other QBs who have thrown more INTs than Russ. Seems very similar to the year that Carson, Davis and Penny controlled the game on the ground and Russ was incredibly efficient. That might have been the best season we have ever had that didn't result in a trip to the Super Bowl.

The Broncos are 14th in total offense, 26th in passing and 13th in rushing. Not quite as good as that Seahawks team, but there are still games left. 6th in TDs while being 22nd in attempts. I just don't think they are going to look at the last five games and say "let's do things differently". It isn't as if they aren't passing at all....they are just using the run game as well as Russ's legs to set it up. Again, very similar to the year we lost to Dallas in the WC round. It would be interesting to see if Sean Payton would stick to the run game that long, the way Pete did. It is just becoming more and more obvious that there are now two different coaches who have won a TON of football games that are very cautious about turning the game over to Russ.

Broncos now have a better record than the Seahawks. Now that is some Amusement.

Forget the Broncos, we are clearly well behind the Rams now. And they are one of the youngest teams in the league. The future is bleak.

I mean, wadda ya want? Just telling it like it is. The re-building Rams just took the team that outgained us by 365 yards to overtime.

The professional sports scene around here has been a real let-down the past few months.

Denver has now held opponents to just 16 points per game in its last eight contests. Even throwing out the 70-point Week 3 debacle from the equation, the Broncos were allowing 27.75 per game before that. Both sides of the ball are vastly improved -- and don’t look now, but the struggling Chiefs are only a game ahead in the AFC West.
It's interesting following the broncos this season, talk about two teams on different trajectories. Revisiting the RW trade. Maybe they should have heeded Russells advice, replaced PC with Sean Payton

Close to a mirror image of our season:

They started 2-5 and we started 5-2.

They have won 5 of 6 and we have lost 5 of 6.

I don't see Russ being OK with that style of offense here, regardless of who's idea it was. He needed to have someone turn the team over to him, and have him fail before this was going to be possible. IMO. It was the summer of Russ, and then he falls flat on his face. THAT is why he is OK reverting back to being a game manager. It wasn't that many years ago he thought he was on par with Brady and Mahomes!
