Your making the mistake of assuming that If Alabama wins out they wont drop in the rankings. The committee values winning the conference championship game very highly. In 2014 TCU was in the 3rd spot in the second to last rankings The Big 12 did not have a championship game at that time. In the final rankings they dropped all the way to #6 without even playing a game. Ohio State who had been ranked 5th won the Big 10 championship game against #13 Wisconsin and jumped into the Playoffs. Alabama will not be playing in their championship game. If Oregon Wins out and beats a #6 or 7 Utah team in the Pac 12 championship they will jump Alabama. Since the 4 team format started there has only been one time that two teams from the same conference got into the Playoffs and in that year both the Big 10 and the Pac 12 had two loss champions. Alabama is not going to get into the playoffs over a 1 loss Pac 12 Champion.

Your argument is with me and you are still wrong.

You may be correct, but you are also referencing the only other time Alabama wasn't in the SEC Championship game. Or the time when Ohio State sat home during the Championship game week and still got in.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 6:05 pmYour argument is with me and you are still wrong.![]()

What if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC title game? I agree with your comments on Alabama. Also, it would have been interesting to see where Baylor would have been ranked today if they hadn't blown it against Oklahoma yesterday. Could they have moved up to #5? That was very fortunate for the Pac12.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 6:05 pmYour argument is with me and you are still wrong.![]()

I think if Georgia beats LSU then Georgia is in and LSU is out. I cant see them sticking a team in coming off a Conference championship loss.

It's kind of odd that Oregon is only 20 points behind Alabama in the AP poll. Does anyone think they wouldn't get pummeled by the Tide?
Re: Two SEC teams in the play-offs, just like I told you
now that Tua's down. yes. before that, not so much. if there is one west coast team that can handle the DL beasts at Bama, it is the Ducks - they certainly held their own against a very good bunch from Auburn. and Utah likewise on the other side of the ball - they have a legit SEC DLine themselves, plus a really solid/tough RB and solid/tough dual threat QB. all they are missing is some outside playmakers and corners. If they make the final 4, that will be their downfall, especially vs. Ohio State or Clemson. If Ducks beat them to make final 4, their loss will be on the overrated Herbert.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 9:06 pmIt's kind of odd that Oregon is only 20 points behind Alabama in the AP poll. Re: Two SEC teams in the play-offs, just like I told you
We held two different two score leads over Oregon in the 3rd quarter, and if the Wildcat play had never been invented would have probably beaten them by two scores. Sorry, Bama would DESTROY us. That doesn't say much for what they would do to Oregon.
Re: Two SEC teams in the play-offs, just like I told you
and that was our best-played game of the year, despite not getting the W. not a stretch to believe that Dawgs best can be competitive with one of the top 4's "average". they are never (or never soon) gonna be able to beat those types if both teams play at their best, just like WSU is never gonna beat UW if both teams play their best. but get those efforts unaligned, and upsets happen.

Re: Two SEC teams in the play-offs, just like I told you
I think you are giving the SEC teams too much credit. Oregon should have beat Auburn They were up 21-6 at one point and held the lead the entire game until the last 9 seconds. Auburn was within one score of both LSU and Georgia. I don't doubt that Oregon would be the underdog against all three SEC teams but I don't think they would get blown out.
