Speculation on the Panthers being interested in RW. There's a connection with the new coach
On Thursday, the Carolina Panthers hired Dave Canales to be their new head coach, replacing Frank Reich and interim HC, Chris Tabor. Well, who is Canales and how does this pertain to Russell Wilson? Dave Canales, from 2010-2022, was with the Seattle Seahawks in a variety of roles. He was there for the entirety of Russell Wilson's tenure with them.

Notably, Canales served as the team's wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach, passing game coordinator, and quarterbacks coach again. During Wilson's tenure from 2012-2021, Canales was the WRs coach, QBs coach, and passing game coordinator.

Bailing on the #1 Overall after one season would be something....

And the first step in 'a different front office" in getting fired is dumping 200 million into an over the hill QB that can't read defenses after drafting you future QB. Jesus. This isn't speculation, it's utterly ridiculous clickbait. Wilson's contract makes him cost prohibitive to ANY team. This is called common sense. How's this for speculation... Wilson to the Chargers becuase... he played at Wisconsin, which is in the BIg 10, and Jim harbaugh coached in the big ten, so there's a connection'! Wow, see how easy it is to just make shit up? You could literally 'make a connection' to every team in the NFL and a few WNBA teams as well. The contract is the problem. Denver fans hate him, he was run out of seattle, and 'a new front office' is hanging their that on that after drafting a QB? C'mon, man.

His contract? Nobody is picking up his contact. He's going to be released and his new team is only going to be on the hook for a million dollars. You can rip RW all you want but an NFL QB for a million dollars is a pretty sweet deal. He would be a FA so will be able to choose whatever team he wants to play for.
As for what’s next for Wilson, it sounds like many believe he can still be an NFL starter. Particularly because Denver would have to pay him $38 million in 2024 if he’s released and another team could sign him for the veteran minimum of just $1 million.

“He’s still a good, quality starter. He can still make all of the throws, still mobile. Honestly, his skills haven’t declined that much,” an AFC personnel man said in the story.

“Still an instinctual thrower, still has arm talent to throw the ball downfield,” an NFL personnel evaluator added. “Still a good enough mover. Has always thrown a good deep ball. It’s just if you ask him to throw the ball 35 times a game, he’s probably going to struggle. That’s just not who he is.”

Finally, no one believes Wilson is going to help the Broncos negotiate a trade. First of all, Wilson has a no-trade clause. He’s going to want to pick his next destination, and being a free agent makes that significantly easier. Second, after the benching, why would he help the Broncos get any salary cap relief?

“I don’t think he’ll do Denver any favors,” a salary cap expert told Fowler. “Why would he? He can wait this out and essentially pick his new team with a golden parachute coming.”
That's getting to why , let Russ cook wasn't really a viable approach

Maybe we can offer them our #16 pick and trick them. They seem to do a lot of stupid shit.
