Sorry to see G2 hit the road, but I think he was going to fall down prospect lists at higher levels. I'm not sure there's much difference between him and Spencer Packard, for instance, other than age. And trading Topa makes sense, though it creates a hole in the bullpen. But Topa's a 32 year old arb eligible late bloomer and you're getting back an everyday player. And the other guys don't matter. This opens a spot on the 40 as well, which makes me wonder if there's another move coming. Maybe trade for a reliever?
They have a bunch of new reliever prospects don't they?
Not really. They signed a bunch of scrap heap guys hoping to find one decent one. They could use a high leverage RP with Topa gone.
Topa wasn't anything special when they traded for him was he?

Welp. I've proposed a lot of trades for Polanco over the past while.

Maybe Harmony will reference our conversations about that (he didn't want him)

I suppose he'll be playing 2B and they'll move Rojas to 3B to platoon with Urias. Big mistake if you ask me if that's what they do. Fingers crossed there's more trades to secure 3rd.

He hadn't pitched much and had a high ERA when he did.

Stuff was always there though... but yes, they got him for nothing.

Indeed the Mariners apparently value Jorge Polanco more than this poster does. :D

They got their infielder trade. So who's left battling for spots for position players on the 26 man? Seby gets one, then 4 out of:

Rojas
Urias
Canzone
Moore
Trammell
Marlowe
Haggerty

Rojas and Urias are locks. Trammell has no options left. I suspect someone gets traded for a reliever.
Yep, sure seems like it.

There isn't going to be any more trades. They were going with Urias at 3B from the second they traded for him. They didn't trade Campbell to pay $5M for a bench guy. Rojas put up almost 1 WAR in just 134 PAs. He can platoon with Urias if need be.

What was his WAR hitting for a 70 wRC+ at 3B for the DBacks last year?

I just don't like wet noodles taking up power spots.

The trade hasn't stopped them from potentially trading one of Miller or Woo...

This still feels like a prelude to a kiss.

Acquire Snell and trade for a legit outfielder? Budget be damned!

Small sample size, but he has raked at T-mobile. 13-31 for a .419 Avg and a .921 OPS. Also he has hit better on the road than at home for his career which should make it easier to transfer career norms while coming to a team with a pitchers park.
