The run was made even more impressive by the fact that Next Gen Stats tracked Penny running at 20.78 miles per hour on the long score. Penny is now the fastest ball carrier the Seahawks have had in 2019.
He definitely looks to have a second gear once in the open field. What impressed me today, and is something he has done more of since his odd walk through injury sidelined him, is the tough runs. He had a few shortish three or so yard runs today that I think last year or early this year would have been losses or no gains. Today he seemed to have good vision, and didn’t stop his feet. He does that and we are going to be looking at a RB by committee...and if Carson keeps fumbling? Then Penny will be the #1.
