I just don't think Jerry gives up his prize top prospects (one of the two things he can still point to along with Starting pitching as his successes) for more Ks less OBP and good chance he gets injured in August.

Probably only a 1 in a 1000 chance the runner trips or pulls a hammy but what is the downside of throwing home other than not looking cool. We already have enough "Cool" guys on the roster. We need a baller.
Robert 2-4 today with a double.

OPS up to .820.

Jon Heyman said today the M's and Dodgers the most likely landing spot for Luis Robert.
Robert’s 1 double today only puts him 5 behind Julio’s season total for doubles.

Robert has the three years of control but they aren't cheap, next season is $12.5 mil the 2026 and 2027 options are $20 mil each. It's a contract he signed before appearing in the ML That would seem fairly significant, particularly to the mariners

This Bleacher Report article has the M’s as the top landing spot for Cody Bellinger. The proposal is a Bellinger for Clase trade:

To be honest, I don’t know what to think about Bellinger. He feels like an older version of JRod - tons of potential, lots of good contact, former ROY, but also really inconsistent. He could wind up being traded and having his batting average drop 30 points. Or he could continue to rake.

Exactly. Not happening. Stanton's idea of having resources to be aggressive is Rooker.

That's a pretty funny logo on the Rainiers hat. A fish with a bat, wearing a Rainiers hat

And it's not easy to pitch scoreless innings in the AAA Pacific league, let me tell you

Does anybody think there's a move this team can make right now that is going to swing things in the right direction?

I guess I should specify a single player they acquire. I do think it's imperative that players be moved off the current roster. Haniger, France, Polanco, Canzone all need to go. It's not that they can't be useful players, I just think that they aren't the players the M's need and/or blocking better players.

Do that and it should help. Play Bliss, Locklear, Robles and Garver every day. Find out what you have there.

And how long should we keep giving tryouts during games that count? Forever, or just until our decade-best group of starters have reached FA and moved on?
