Statism: The practice or doctrine of giving a centralized government control over economic planning and policy. The belief that the centralization of power in a state is the ideal or best way to organize humanity.

Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of central economic planning. The evidence over time seems to support the idea that market economies outperform centrally organized economies. That said, I do support giving a nudge here and there (i.e., targeting regulations and investments) if there is evidence of market failure.
