They follow what was a well played game against Atlanta with that total stinker. There's no shame perhaps in losing to the Bills but not like that. There were issues with the team under Pete that led to his firing but it doesn't seem like they are being solved. It really is a mystery. The gap between them and the premier teams of the league is large. I think it's fair to be disappointed in that. I was prepared for them to get off to a slow start but we are half way through the season and they seem to be regressing

Or it could simply be that nothing ever changes in SEA. They win games they shouldn't, then lose games they shouldn't. One week they light it up and play well as a unit, the next week they shit the bed.

It's been a mystery for years.

How good of a playoff coach was Paul Westphal for the Sonics. Remind where that franchise is playing its games now.

All you guys who were celebrating when Pete was fired are about to find out how wrong you were. MacDonald is in way over his head. He is barely out of diapers and built a reputation riding the coattails of the Harbaughs. He has never had any real responsibility himself. I love Grubb but he is a college coach who has no experience with the professional game and what it takes to win in the NFL. He was at freaking Fresno State 3 years ago. I brought all of this up before the season and you guys just brushed it off. This is a giant cluster and its going to go up in flames.

Pete Carroll made a historically large number of moves prior to his first season...and he was 14 and 18 in his first two years. I guess he was also over his head? 8 games in and people thumping their chest that the guy who is 4 and 4 is over his head and they knew it all along! Come on.
This team is .500 on paper but it won't be close to a .500 team at the end of the season. Look at the schedule. Do honestly see a path where this team wins any more than 7 games?
Pete didn't inherit a team with a winning record. Pete didn't play his first 3 games against teams without a QB. Pete also had already gone through his growing pains and figured out who he was. Pete had more years experience in football when he took the job than MacDonald has years being alive.

I honestly don't see this team beating the 9ers or Rams, and maybe not even the Cards. So the sadness is likely to get even worse.
Like I said though, I haven't given up on MacDonald yet. I consider Schneider suspect.

And how does one gain experience? By being in the game for a number of years.

We're only 8 games into the new regime... Macdonald will be fine.

He might be fine after "a number of years" or he might not. I am not interested in watching "a number of years" of crap football while we wait to find out.

Sure it's just that it tends be the second job where the experience pays off, I'm confident MM will be a good coach but I'm not convinced it will be with the Seahawks

Nobody saw us losing to the Giants or beating the Falcons either. There is a reason we all don't have perfect scores in the pick em pool. Recency bias hits hard after big wins or losses...especially the latter...

They lost to the lions but they still played well, they lost to the Bills and played like shit, that's the issue, not their record. Win or lose its the quality of the football they play. The recency bias is witnessing some really crappy football. There's no excuse, the Bills didn't force them into those mistakes. I don't see what MM being a rookie coach would have to do with it either

I hope that's right.
