I'd do a 2 year deal for Walker, not sure if I like 3 thoughBil522 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 8:07 pmIn the FWIW category, Jim Bowden of the Athletic said this in his article today:
10. The Mariners sign first baseman Christian Walker (three years, $72 million), improving offensively and defensively at the position. Seattle also lands second baseman Brandon Lowe (two years, $24 million) after Tampa Bay doesn’t pick up his option
Rays exercised their option on Lowe

I am not sure I put much stock into Bowden's conjecture. I am betting more trade interest in guys like: Lowe, Burger, Rooker, Yandy, Brandon D., Nolan A., Wade L.,tehmc wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 9:20 pmI'd do a 2 year deal for Walker, not sure if I like 3 thoughBil522 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 8:07 pmIn the FWIW category, Jim Bowden of the Athletic said this in his article today:

I think most of us have centered in on
Improve at:
1B, DH, 2B, 3B (Raley can take one of the DH/1B positions
Improve BP I specifically want a power lefty, but many have just added RH set-up closers
But look at those Rays players we could trade for Lowe and Yandy and be on the hook for less money and have opt outs for next year should they fail.

He is too lazy to use the quote function so I can decide who he is talking about. lolSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 12:57 amI think Donn is referring to Soler where you're referring to Kelenic.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 12:30 amFourth OFers can be had for between $1-2 million a year. Soler is likely headed there to DH and play the occasional OF spot.
He's a fine player, but for $16 million a year? Ehhh.
