I called this, that Haniger would start the season on the 26. I'm sure they'll move him if they can but I don't think they want to give up the type of prospect that would make up for a significant portion of that salary. I'm also not as sure as the rest of you that he's cooked.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 8:09 pmFun times.

Nice concise post! I couldn't agree more.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:17 pmI am fine with keeping Garver as a base back-up catcher. I would be open to getting him ABs if earned at 1B/DH.
Hanniger bounce back?
If they got Lowe @ 2B, Bohm @ 3B, and JT @ 1B/DH I would be ok with it. But any of this BS where they use utilities as starting 3B platoon BS is beyond pathetic. It is planning to fail.

After his hot start when ended mid April he put up a .571 OPS. The most insane thing is that it would only cost them $750k to replace him with a minimum wage guy because it is a sunk cost. Just a idiot poverty franchise.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:37 pmI called this, that Haniger would start the season on the 26. FWIW Alec Bohm has posted 3.8 bWAR in 599 career games, including 3.0 bWAR in 143 games this year.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:17 pmI am fine with keeping Garver as a base back-up catcher. I would be open to getting him ABs if earned at 1B/DH.

Josh Rojas, who is two years older than Bohm, has posted 6.2 bWAR in 569 career games, including 2.2 bWAR in 142 games this year.
This year's bWAR of 3.0 was Bohm's career high while Rojas posted a career high of 3.1 bWAR in 125 games in 2022.
Bohm and Rojas each have two years of team control, Bohm with a projected 2025 salary of $8.1 million and Rojas with a projected 2025 salary of $4.3 million.

The obvious caveat that Bohm was a top prospect who might be tapping into his talent whereas Rojas is an effort type who likely maxed out 2 years ago.harmony wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 5:03 amFWIW Alec Bohm has posted 3.8 bWAR in 599 career games, including 3.0 bWAR in 143 games this year.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:17 pmI am fine with keeping Garver as a base back-up catcher. What's interesting is the Phillies aggression at trying to improve. Dipoto isn't trading Bohm
Re: Looks like Turner and both Mitches with be on the OD roster
Did Dipoto mention anything about keeping the bullpen intact?
A guy like Munoz probably gets us an answer at one of our offensive holes, amd Dipoto's shown a willingness to trade from the bullpen.
What would you guys be willing to give him up for?
