Tomorrow is the non tender deadline. I can't believe they kept Speier over JT over a million dollars.

Only thing that makes sense on how these misers run the team is they get a kickback on unspent payroll.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 3:42 pmTomorrow is the non tender deadline. I can't believe they kept Speier over JT over a million dollars.

No way a GM and President are that concerned about keeping payroll low if they're not getting 10% of whatever they don't spend.

Yep, company performance has been a component of my annual bonus for over 25 years way back to when I was making $40k a year. You can bet your ass it is a part of Jerry's overall comp given his POBO title and love of the 54% plan. And there is a reason he didn't get fired. He is meeting his goals.bpj wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 8:50 pmOnly thing that makes sense on how these misers run the team is they get a kickback on unspent payroll.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 3:42 pmTomorrow is the non tender deadline. Seems the M's are dead set on signing JT or Santana. If so the choice is obvious:

He was one of the best hitters against left handed pitching in MLB last season.
Could probably add him to Raley to make a pretty solid start to 1B/DH.

I just can't see he wanting stay with and org that he has begged to add talent which has gone on deaf ears.
