Yeah, have to sacrifice those two possible signings
Yes because if they did sign them the entire ownership group would have to eat Mac and Cheese and Cup O noodles and use 1 ply TP for at least a year.
If I didn’t know any better… you’re inching ever closer to becoming a liberal 😂
Ha I think the opposite of you based on your posts in the M's forum!

No, it's because there's a cap on international bonuses.

They could do all those moves for $23M and keep eating Steak, Caviar and Lobster.

Do you really not understand that there's a cap on how much you can spend on international bonuses?

Imagine being that wealthy and preferring to be hated by the entire fan base than have your net worth less than 1% lower. It's a fucking mental illness.
No it's a mental discipline. That is why they will always keep their wealth and most likely never lose it. The issue here is, that's not the mindset you need to be Sports team owner. The passion to win has to outweigh the money involved, without making yourself go poor obviously. You are right though - they should have no problem eating 10-20 mill between the group of owners if it means putting a winning team together. The irritation for us as fans really lies in the fact that - they should know and probably do that if they did put together that winning team that they then, in turn, would make more money so even that out if not surpass it giving them more $ than they originally thought. The discipline comes in though - the IF part of the plan as in if they spend the $ and gain more - they are worried it won't happen and they'll have to eat it.

Of course I do. Its 7 million. What is your point. The say they only have $16M to spend which is complete Bullshit. What happened to the $250M+ they have saved since the start of the rebuild??? The 2018 payroll was $160M. In today's dollars that is $215M and they say they can't go over $150M??? It has nothing to do with international money. That limit should actually allow them to spend more elsewhere.

I think Donn and Storm were just talking about the 2 international free agents they wouldn't be able to sign if they gave the $7M to this guy to sign.

Thanks but I have no idea why.

Sasaki was they only guy I mentioned from Asia.

Trade for Rooker $5M
Trade for Brendan Donovan $4M
Sign Sasaki $4M
Sign Santana $3M

Moore/Shenton 3B platoon.

Yeah they should definitely make those moves, they're talking about the two international kids the Mariners were supposedly set to sign that I think Donn brought up in a quote.

So if they used all that budget on the Asian pitcher, they're saying they wouldn't have the bonus money available amymore to sign the two internationals because it's a set amount.
