Pure salary dump but at least they got a better return that two TJ surgery guys or the double trash can duo of Seby/Vargas.

Also Belli can still play baseball and hit unlike the Mitches.

It's a great pickup for the Yankees. Bellinger is overpaid somewhat based on his 2024 season, but he's still a pretty good player that can help you in the outfield or first base, and it's one year with a player option for 2026 that the Yankees can buy out for $5 mil. This is sort of a perfect move for a high payroll team.

It would have also been a good move for a team that was the most profitable in baseball in 2023.

My interpretation is probably different than others, but those guys are like the scraps that fell out of the dumpster and are just laying on the ground.

Guys like Adam Frazier and Mitch Garver are dumpster diving...

Drew was good at one time but He has been out since 2021. 19 innings spread across very unhealthy MILB appearances. And he has not pitched a decent inning load since 2019. His max was something like 26 in a season.

Yeah, he was good. There's nothing really wrong with dumpster diving. The Dodgers are notorious dumpster divers. To me Pomeranz is a classic dumpster dive. A guy that had value in the past you can get for next to nothing hoping to find more value. The issue would be how much you depend on it working I guess.
