Or at least having both is a better safety net, in their opinion.
Unfortunately we know that $7M buys Polanco at least the whole first half of the season of at bats even if he struggles again.

Unrelated. Bliss is the 2B and Polanco the 3B.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 4:25 amHopefully Bliss surprises us and Polanco gets a lot of bench time.
Rojas was complete shit. Not that I’m excited about Polonco, but Rojas was one of the worse hitters in baseball after his hot first month. .186/.272/.281 from May 14 through the rest of the season while primarily playing a platoon. I’d take Polonco any day over Rojas.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:39 amThey are paying him DOUBLE what Rojas would have cost.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:28 amSeriously if this is the result they should have just kept Rojas. It's a clownshow over there.
Agree with that but signing Polanco is worse than doing nothing and going with a Solano Shenton Platoon.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 4:36 amRojas was complete shit. They are paying him what he was due to make on the option (given the buyout too). He's healthy now.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:39 amThey are paying him DOUBLE what Rojas would have cost.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:28 amSeriously if this is the result they should have just kept Rojas. Literally doing Nothing would have been better. So ya sure he is healthy now? Are you an orthopedic surgeon or did ya just stay at a Holiday Inn last night? So he has been an injury riddled cripple his entire career but just needed that one little minor knee surgery and he will miraculously turn into Cal Ripken Jr. now lol And if he was injured last season why did he keep playing while he sucked? Cost the team the playoffs if so.
