The guy makes a good point about every bat in the lineup being a major IF. I have hope for Robles because while it was a full season it was a pretty good same size of 77 games AND he still in his prime. I have almost no hope for the Mitches or Polanco or JP.
Yes and no, Even Haniger has a non-zero chance to contribute. But other than Cal, I am not 100% barring injury that you can pencil anybody in for 30 home runs or 20 for that matter.

Yup that is clearly the line the FO is pitching - bounce back years. To your point - I have hope that Julio will be a bit better, same with Jorge, and I think Cal will have roughly the same year - but after that - no real faith in any of them.
And the kicker is that they keep saying it every year and it never happens. I'd like to say it's because they don't learn, but it's really just sunken cost and they're hoping for a miracle out of the money that's already been wasted.
Palanco wasn't a sunken cost

Haniger's bat speed was still mostly intact last year. I don't think it's a sure thing that he's done.

True, except now he is swinging with his eyes closed.

Even with the Mariners' slow offseason, the AL West could offer a three-team race this year:

Haniger and Garver are. I know how much you love to be contrarian for the sake of it, but come on, that was a Vogelbomb-class post right there.

Two bad years in a row, 34 year old injury-ravaged body just aged another six months, going against pitchers who are getting better and better...I wish he wasn't done, but he's done.

Probably, but maybe not.

Well, France to the Twins. Not that a reunion was likely, but it's still sad to see a former All Star dim, fade and then move onto another gig.

Is a 37 yo Solano better than France? They just make moves to make moves.
