My sister is adamant that Shanahan is a fraud. Says if he didn't have that defense and those stars they would still be the old 49ers. 6 and 11 last year seems to indicate that might not be far from the truth.

She's not wrong but I'm sure he's involved with personnel decisions and helped build the roster, so I wouldn't call him a fraud. Not to mention that any good coach needs good players. Not a coach out there who doesn't struggle to make chicken soup out of chicken shit. You can only work with what you've got. Although some are better at it than others. I remember when Arians used to give SEA fits with all his game wrinkles. He knew he didn't have the personnel, but he always kept it interesting with ARI.

No mention of Huff getting the boot. Replaced by John Benton. Kubiak is bringing him with him from the saints. The offensive line coach seems to be the domain of the OC. I'm just wondering about cable and Bevel.

Cable’s title was Assistant Head Coach. As I recall, Bevell wasn’t even in the meetings when the team installed the run game. I’m sure that was fantastic for him…not.

Brian Schottenheimer is getting s lot of positive press for the staff he's putting together. He's brought in a couple of college coaches, way he's using them made me think, Grubb should have taken a job as QB or offensive line coach first, learn the system. OC was too big a jump
