Is RB now a a high round position of need in the upcoming draft?

Post by Oregonhawk » Tue Dec 24, 2019 2:43 am

I know this season is technically still going, but looking towards next season it seems doubtful that Carson or Penny will be ready to go when the season starts. Depending on the type of hip fracture Carson has, there's a possibility he could be done for good. Is RB now a first round position of need? There are some pretty good backs that will be on the board in the first round.

Better not be. Not with their needs on both fronts.

Absolutely. As well as, DE/DT/OL. Lots of holes.

If Carson is done and Clowney signs somewhere else next season could be real bleak. Brown, Wagner, Wright, and Kendricks are all on the down side of their careers. I could see a collapse along the lines of Holmgren's final year coming soon.

I think we're good at RB despite the injuries. Wouldn't surprise me if they drafted one in the later rounds though.

Fuck no. Homers young. You can bring back Penny too but that's it. It's not career ending.

If you predict a collapse enough years you may finally be right. All these injuries, and the worst we can be is an 12 win playoff team. Sorry, I don't see a collapse...and I am far from glass half full guy.

It's absolutely a draft need. Spend a 1st round pick on a left tackle in 2021.

Re-sign Clowney.

Re-sign Al Woods.

Let Reed walk.

Draft Biadasz with the first pick to play center.

Draft Najee Harris in the 2nd round.

Draft a right tackle in the 2nd round (extremely deep right tackle draft in the early rounds)

Draft a DT and DE in the 3rd round.

Then go ham in depth picks with our 3,000 picks accumulated post round 3.

Why cut Reed? Like the guy you draft is gonna be more productive than him. Reed is a good player, do not think he is gonna command that much especially with his suspension. Were lacking depth on the line as it is. I say you re-sign as many guys as possible including Jefferson & Woods. You see what their like when everyones healthy & clicking. I'm definitely aboard the Tyler Biadiasz train that kid looks like a stud.

RB is probably a need, I just hope we don't use a first rounder on one again. They need to find out the extent of Carson's injury, but if he is done they will probably draft a back. I would have to believe it would be a later round pick as there is really no reason to believe Penny and Homer can't handle the duties right?

As for the Phantom DT? I don't know what to think. He looks like a punk to me. Have a career year, get suspended and then be invisible when you do play? I honestly don't care if he comes back unless it is for very little money. There are several guys I am ready to be done with. The best ability is availability, and there isn't a lot of that on this team.
