And, somehow, we still have zero MOTO hitters at the MLB level.
The fuck are you talking about?

Julio, Cal, Lukey, Randy, Garver and Polo are all MOTO hitters.

Lol.

I guess I should have specified on a contending team.

We had ONE hitter with a .800+ OPS last season and that was Robles fluky have season. Sub .800 OPS guys don't belong in the MOTO.

Not on a winning team at least.

Matt Olson had a down year and had about the same wRC+ that Julio and Cal had. Ok, fine.

The difference is on top of that the Braves had Ozuna with like a 160. And he was the one with the down year the year before.

We have a meh lineup. It's obviously missing a MOTO bat. Not sure how it's even debatable. Pretty crazy.

Raley did, too and cmon, you know Julio, Cal and Arozarena have more in the tank. Plus Polanco looks light years better after struggling with his knee

They have the ability but they didn't perform at that level last season. Polanco had an OPS over 1.200 last Spring.

Polanco's bat is legit. I think everything just went bad last year due to fucking Servais and his buddy Brant Brown w/ their incessant numbers getting in the guys' heads. Then it just snowballed and snowballed on everyone.

There's no doubt, a hot start will be HUGE for the M's

Good thing we're facing the A's out the gate. Their rotation is pretty average at best

Great, great, great grandson of the legendary Roy Hobbs acquired from the Mets for cash this afternoon.
Michael Hobbs, RH RP, 25 y.o., 6'3, 215 will probably start in AAA, perhaps AA.
Pretty good minor league career, hoping for the pitching gurus to getting his pitches and skill level up enuf to claim a bullpen spot as early as this summer.
Mariners To Acquire Michael Hobbs From Mets
By Nick Deeds | March 22, 2025 at 5:58pm CDT

A minor trade is in the works, as Will Sammon of The Athletic reported earlier this afternoon that the Mets are shipping minor league right-hander Michael Hobbs to Seattle in exchange for cash considerations.

Hobbs, 25, was selected by the Mets in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 draft back in December. A tenth-round pick by Los Angeles back in 2021, Hobbs spent his entire career in the Dodgers organization prior to being plucked from the minor leagues by the Mets back in December......
Hobbs has looked good at the High-A and Double-A levels over the past three seasons with Los Angeles. Last year was particularly impressive, as he posted a 2.97 ERA in 57 2/3 innings of work across 42 appearances. He struck out 21.8% of opponents faced, and while a 12.6% walk rate leaves much to be desired a fantastic 52.7% groundball rate helps him keep the ball in the park and makes up for his lackluster strikeout-to-walk ratio.
