i think we'll find out if they are just blowing smoke or really do like Olu and Sundell now that Bradbury has been cut by the Vikings.
Could see Darnold wanting to bring him in for familiarity sake, but if spending on Jenkins dont know if there's enough left for Garrett too.
Be happy to get one or the other - then we're only counting on 1 or 2 of interior guys to improve as opposed to all three. Call me crazy but especially if Jenkins is added i do think we have more OL talent than previous years, so despite the track record i still hold out hope the unit can improve with the new coaches that better fit their strengths.

If we see Cross-Haynes-Olu-Laumea-Jerrell as the starting unit for any game next season i'm gonna puke.

Haynes might be a decent guard next season, that he wasn't ready last season means he has no career. I doubt he be the first offensive lineman to have a trajectory like that. The same goes for Olu, he was playing better the end of last year wasn't he? The issue had been the hotshot that retired

Name the last guy we brought in that they were high on, that sucked, but soon became good? Britt? Even Britt played a ton as a Rookie, and he wasn't mentioned in the same name as a sixth rounder and rookie UDFA out of ND State as guys they are not ready to give up on. I understand that fans are supposed to be excited every off season, but the Seahawk O Line is much like the Mariner hitters. Each year we will hear how this guy or that guy will save the day, and each year it's wrong.

The scouting reports on Haynes a year ago said he was strong and explosive. Well, perhaps he was in comparison to other Big East O linemen, but he certainly didn't look it vs the pros.

All you read is how talented the guy is Steve Hutchinson was particularly high on Haynes. I just wouldn't expect them to give up on him.
Despite being retired, Steve Hutchinson is still doing his part to fortify the offensive line. Hutchinson — the man who once stood next to Walter Jones and formed what will forever be considered one of the greatest guard/tackle marriages in football history — remains a member of the team, now as a consultant. As it turns out, he was a major factor in helping to inform John Schneider’s decision to draft Christian Haynes, who Hutch seems to feel pretty confident in.

The Cowboys take Kansas State’s Cooper Beebe with the 73rd pick, one of the two interior linemen still high on Seattle’s board, meaning it’s going to be a long, nervous wait to see if the Seahawks are going to get Christian Haynes.

In the back of the room, Hall of Fame guard Steve Hutchinson, who works for the team as a football consultant, a role that consists largely of helping evaluate offensive linemen, quietly chats with Schneider. In particular, Schneider wants Hutch’s opinion on Haynes.

“I think he’s going to be a really good (expletive) player,” Hutchinson tells Schneider.

According to Boyle’s article, the wait for their pick to arrive at 81 was an intense and stressful block of time. They knew they wanted Haynes, but kept seeing teams take linemen ahead of them. The fact that he remained on the board resulted in a quintessential Schneider moment:

“Holy cow!” Schneider shouts. “We’re getting our offensive lineman.”
They are changing the blocking technique, Haynes could be better suited for what they are planning to install

Arguing JS's approach has changed this off season
In short, this is just different than what we’re used to. The safe has not been retained, the risk has been sought. I’m old enough to remember when Schneider could get four backup tackles for one year of Cooper Kupp, and be proud to do it.

I’d not go as far as to say Schneider has put his job on the line for this year, but it leaves the team’s 2025 outlook barely predictable. Far more, it’s the polar opposite of a rebuild. Each of these moves has the ability to contribute to massive win potential, while leaving picks and dollars still on the table. There’s almost as big a chance they all flop, but the bet is different this year.

Instead of betting that a guy could go from roster-bubble to solid contributor at best, the bet is on three guys with All-Pro talent and one plus-contributor on explosive plays.

I'm fine with giving Haynes the starting job at RG, but i hope they'll have a better backup plan than Bradford/Laumea in case he can't hack it.

Huh? What has changed on the Offensive Line? Are you honestly saying we have never brought in big name skill position players before? Traded for Lynch, traded for Harvin, traded for Graham, traded for Adams, traded for Sheldon Richardson. I don't give a shit if they were traded for or FAs, the O Line is the issue, and he did Jack and Shit, just like he always does. Name a move we made on the O Line? I dare you.

His philosophy has changed? Bullshit, he has scraps on the O Line, and is telling us that simply firing the Offensive Coaches and bringing new ones will change it. I guess it worked before right? Bates, Bevell, Schotty, Waldron, Grubb....just moved the deck chairs around and expects it to save the ship. This O Line will suck, and I am not sure what Kupp and a few other FA signings that don't play O Line have to do with that?
