Cal Raleigh extension
Re: Cal Raleigh extension
Six years and $105M according to Passan, adding 3 years to his contract. Didn't think they'd pull that off
Re: Cal Raleigh extension
Seems like a pretty good deal for Cal, considering the risk of injury over the next three years before he would hit free agency.
Re: Cal Raleigh extension
Came here just to see if bpj was willing to show his face. Im telling you guys, this is where the money is going -- to the core. It's a philosophy that our owner has and whether you like it or not, you have to give credit for him sticking to it and putting in the effort to maintain the players you develop
And to all those who thought they could speak for Cal, like they know Cal's heart, yeah go kick rocks. You don't know shit

He was only going to make 5.6 Million this year Might have got another total of 20 Million in the following 2 seasons if he played out his arbitration years. So in actual money he is going to make about 80 extra million to add on 3 years to the deal. That's 26.6 Million per year.

Spotrac assigned Cal Raleigh a market value of eight years and about $194 million for an AAV of $24.2 million:

... based on the assumption that Raleigh were a free agent, not a player entering the first of three arbitration seasons.

Re: Cal Raleigh extension
I wonder how much his relationship with Dan Wilson played into his decision to sign?
It seems like a home team discount and it frees the team to finally make a decision on Harry Ford, change of position or trade him?
At least this team finally wisely invested in a worthwhile position player, give them credit where credit is due
