Are we allowed to switch players who made the cut? It is pretty unfair that we are unable to change our poor golfers who barely made the cut vs those that did not make the cut. It is better to have a player just miss the cut, so you can see who is playing well and put them on the team. If my argument holds up I will replace Schwartzel and Johnson with Justin Rose and Ramsus Hojgaard.

I will make the changes unless we get a mass protest. Happy if anyone wants to make changes in a similar vein. I like the suggestion which I think maoling made where you get a bonus stroke for players who qualify which rewards you for getting players through (you would have to keep the players, I guess) - but can’t bring that in until next contest.

There definitely has to be a benefit for keeping hold of money and having qualified players. You’ve done well to get to that position and should be able to reap the rewards.

Totally agree.

I did say this earlier btw but I don’t think it’s fair as you say.

I have a question based on his picks.....

He under spent by $35, yes. What if all of his picks make the cut... at the very bottom of the cut line? Does he have to keep all his golfers and know that he underspent?
Great question.

From memory, nobody has ever asked to replace a player who made the cut. I would suspect you are stuck with who you pick for all 4 rounds and I will tighten that rule for the PGA contest.
I have added a poll, I am pretty sure everyone will be ok with it.

Additional point-of-order:- for tiebreak purposes, the highest scoring player tie-break will only apply to original selections.

There should be a 3 shot, one shot per golfer, bonus if you keep all of your golfers for the weekend. Obviously, if your golfer misses the cut, then you won't get the bonus
Like it, I will add it to the USPGA comp....
I don't know about that.. The guy that has all 3 make the cut will probably already be in first place and with another three strokes the contest could be essentially over on Friday night which would be lame.
Another perfectly fair point.

Sounds like we need a rules committee - we can all order some Green Jackets and sit in a log cabin.

Here's another couple of ideas
1) players can only be brought in if they are not in anyone else's squad.
2) pick 5 at the start of the tournament and your best 3 count - no need to do subs?

I am conscious now that the top 3 all now have Justin Rose making his performance completely irrelevant to our contest. Juliooooo seems to have had any advantage of picking him completely nullified at the half-way point. Unless he has a 'mare and pushes them all out of contention.

I will write a 16 page brief before the PGA.

I'd like to see some sort of draft. No duplicate picks. Once somebody has picked Rose or Nicholas or Woods or Lee Trevino, that's it. They get him and no one else. It would be a monumental, arduous and logistical nightmare. First protagonist to sign in gets his golfer (previous year's winner gets first pick?) Runner-up gets next. Limit the field to maximum 18 (holes). Once everyone has selected.....back to the top for next pick. Draft like NFL or NBA.

I'd love to see a draft, unique players et al. I liked the one we did for the Tour Championship at the end of last season.

We might have to do the launch post in November to get through the order. Duplicate picks are frustrating. We also have to be conscious that that the more serious and complicated we make it then we might lose some players. We want it to be simple and fun and i think we are just about on par. See what I did there?

It's only a month until the PGA which we have never done before. The original "1 from each group" system is looking appealing again.

I would have changed my player after round 1 of I could have. Can’t change rules mid tournament.

So looks like Mickelson missed the cut. Just give me one of the $0 guys. I think Bubba was one of them.
