Sure, he is number one this year, no question, but in 2023 he was behind:

3. Drake M
4. Michael P

Ward wouldn't be ahead of any of the 6 QB's last year in my opinion. I'd take any one of them over him.

Ward had zero stars coming out of High school, and a 3 star rating once he entered the transfer portal to Miami. He had an alarming number of interceptions and neither him nor Shadeur made as many 2nd progression completions as Jaxon Dart did(which happened to be 30% below J.J. McCarthy). Dart also didn't have a sack problem in college like Ward or Sanders. I do however think that Ward has the better arm. So I'm not nearly as high on Ward as last year's group.

All sorts of inaccurate information in your response. "Alarming number of interceptions"? Sack problems were his when he was one of the most pressured QBs in D1? Perhaps you could also say he was one of the best in the country at evading sacks. He didn't go to Miami under pure luck. He was the #1 sought transfer in the country coming out of 2023.

Just watch the game film and compare it against those drafted in the 1st round last year. His talent sticks out like a sore thumb.

I'd draw that line under Jayden, and we've yet to see Caleb do anything special since USC 2022. Penix? k and Drake hasn't held his own yet either, and I don't expect him to be much more than another Jay Cutler. I do like JJ's college days, but Cam will be better. I like Bo's moxie but not a cut above Cam either.
