Hit it huge with Junior and A-Rod, three good seasons out of Moore, two or three good seasons out of Zunino, two good seasons out of Swift, one good rookie season out of Cruz and Ackley, and four total busts.

That said, I think we should feel really good about Anderson. He really does look like a special kind of pitcher.
I still think Cruz would have excelled here. I don't have any evidence as to why I think that way, but he sure seemed on the right bath until we traded him. Clement blows me away. It seemed he was going to be Cal before Cal was even in Little League!
He did have a solid career where his OPS was consistently in the upper .700s. What a stupid trade that was. Who the hell trades a rising star outfielder for two maybe bullpen arms? Hint: the same guy who traded Varitek and Lowe for Heathcliffe Scrotumb.

Pick #122 - Mason Peters, LHP

Blurb from Baseball America:

School: Dallas Baptist Drafted/Committed: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.6

Peters spent two seasons at Temple (Texas) JC before transferring to Dallas Baptist for his 2025 junior year, where he became a key piece in the bullpen. He logged 42.1 innings across 23 appearances with a 4.25 ERA, 58 strikeouts and 16 walks. An undersized 5-foot-11, 175-pound lefthander, Peters attacks from a three-quarters slot with big stuff and intent. His fastball sits at 93 mph and touches 96, but his best pitch is a high-spin, upper-70s curveball with sharp depth and plus potential. Despite its modest velocity, the curveball features heavy bite and late action, making it difficult for hitters to square up—though at times it’s just as hard for Peters to command. He also flashes a low-80s slider with more lateral movement, but uses it sparingly compared to his fastball and curve. Peters is a high-probability reliever in pro ball.
A reliever the size of a jockey with a 4.25 ERA playing at a community college. Exciting. :|
Mason Peters posted his mundane 4.25 ERA at a four-year university that has produced 19 MLB players:

... although Ben Zobrist is the only notable.

Dickerson played 55 games in CF and hit 19 HRs in 271 PAs with great speed, hit .314 with a 1.000 OPS in the B10 but somehow got picked a round after the jockey. Insanity.

I haven't had much of a chance to tune in today, but if my count is right:

3 Catchers :?
2 Outfielders
2 Shortstops
1 Third baseman
13 Pitchers
Total: 21 picks (w/the extra competitive balance pick)

Sure hope, if the catchers are all signed, at least one will transition to first base.

Pitchers: Isn't 13 an unlucky number? I don't know yet what the righty/lefty, nor the starter/reliever breakdown is which will be interesting.

Historically, 2 to 4 don't get signed each year.
Unscientifically, up to 15 each year never get a whiff of MLB time, much less ever get to even AAA.
Numerous draftees are with a new organization after a few years, too.

What with the success ratio, DavidGee24 is right; what's there to get excited about except for maybe the top 3 picks?
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

For me, the excitement is landing Kade Anderson. Hopefully we get a few arms and maybe one bat out of this bunch, but already won the lottery with KA.

The biggest issue is it was the same damn season. Zero reason to make both moves.
