Nice to see Naylor having no problems hitting it through the marine layer. That ball was destroyed.

Feels so good to have an actual 1b again wow. Also Geno had that walk. Ump continues to help garbage pitcher.
Re: Kirby vs. the White Sox loose Cannon G.T. 8/6/25
I can't stand these umps that expand their zone in a 3-0 count. Geno was just fucked by that call. Should've raised his obp instead he raises his K rate

Yep exactly helping out a shit pitcher. Kirby better be getting those calls. Btw much better ab from Cal make him throw u a strike.
Fuck yea great to see Cal and Kirby get them right back into the game. Great job guys. Kirby hates support.

I think the entire All-star break experience may have been taxing on Cal. The home run derby itself can exacerbate existing injury situations but i don't think that was the case here. I just think he would benefit from getting a week or so off, mentally as well as physically.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 12:57 amI looked to see how the other competitors are doing and some of them aren't doing so hot, but others are doing what they normally do. The HRD messing up hitters is one of the big myths of the game, right up there with "protection in the lineup".DanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 8:47 pmIf your name isn't Ken Griffey Jr, then the HRD gonna mess you up. But, whatever, Cal is smart enough to figure it out.
JP just went through a nasty slump, and D-Mo's career has slumped over and died. That's just how the game goes.

I think this slump can be explained as the impact of mental and/or physical exhaustion and ameliorated by time off. (Just as i type this Cal gets a 2-run single).Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 12:44 amWe're talking about this season aren't we? It's not a fluke, but on the hand did you expect him to go the season without a slump?Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 12:35 amRegression lol. So in your opinion Cal is the same hitter he was last year and the year before and the first 100 games were a massive fluke...
