It gave me PTSD. Reminded me of Jake Locker trying to make himself a first round pick with Sark in his ear saying to throw the ball. I never understood why either of those two thought that what a Pro Scout wanted to see what a QB break the pocket on third and short and spike a throw downfield when it was obvious his legs would have extended the drive. But he was SOOO hyper focused on becoming that guy.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 4:17 pmNothing worse than a QB not running for an easy 1st down and throwing and incompletion or pic. Bret Farve doing it in the playoffs had to be the worst one.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 6:01 amPretty good for three quarters. Not sure what Milroe was doing on 4th down. I thought he could have run for the 1st. Run game sure looked better than what we have come to expect lately....but I too was disappointed in Martinez. Looked like he was just butt sniffing.
Mike Rob was saying it last night...basically calling him a runner that needs to develop to a plus thrower. It was a pre-season game, so no biggie....but he is electric running the football. Lamar would have picked up that first down with his legs. Hurts would have too. Shit, Mahomes probably would have. I think these guys act like there is still some kind of stigma behind being a running QB. There isn't. Yards are yards, TDs are TDs and First Downs are First Downs.
Also, I recorded the game, so was way behind...and didn't post this last night. But did anyone else think they stopped the clock a couple of times when the Raiders were running the kicking unit on before the half? They got tackled in bounds and no way there was time to get that kick off, but he kicked it with like three seconds left because they kept stopping the clock. The game was HORRIBLY officiated in my opinion. Bad both ways, but bad.
