On a side note.....what do you guys think about Logan Evans.
Granted there was a rain delay yesterday.
BUT...he's been crappy lately.
Do we really have no one else to put in that 5th starting role???

Again, couldva wouldva shouldva been an area to explore at the trade deadline I'd argue.

A veteran 5th starter role to at least give us a shot of winning a few games until playoffs when you don't need him anymore.

Just saying.

Emerson Hancock anyone?!?! Is he any better?
I'm encouraged by his use of secondaries in yesterday's game. Mariner pitching orthodoxy emphasizes 4-seam fastball and sinker (2-seam fastball), but for Evans those pitches aren't good enough to throw 70% of the time, and so I like that he was trying something different. Unfortunately, most of his secondaries aren't that great either, at least not yet. But, throwing them more and getting that feedback from hitters is presumably part of the process. His cutter and changeup right now are the most encouraging.

I see Evans as a very likely trade piece in the offseason. I think a lot of teams will find him interesting, even as an unfinished product. And he could really benefit from going to a team that isn't so stuck on throwing fastballs and more fastballs and then even more fastballs. If he doesn't get traded, we could see him settle in for most of the year at AAA, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see his game step up a notch, making him a prime candidate for a deadline deal.

Evans' slider has been a disappointment for me. It has a negative run value and that was supposed to be his calling card.

His only good pitch this year has been a cutter... his sinker and curve ball have been getting absolutely railed.

Yeah, he's an unfinished product for sure. But there's a lot to like too. We're used to these guys coming up and being awesome right from the get go, but that isn't how it usually goes. One positive with Evans that sticks with me is that he doesn't get flustered on the mound, even when he's getting shelled. Compare that to Kirby, who loses his shit and acts like a fucking child when major league hitters do what they're supposed to do.

Naylor Scratched with the flu so Garver 3 straight days and Solano at 1st. Wow this lineup against a good lefty looks really bad. Idc how bad the Mets have been seriously if u can't beat this lineup wht even play rest of your games. Soto is gonna have a monster series fkkkkk really really hope I am wrong.

I'd rather watch Masterboner everyday than Dilly Fn Less and Solongago and Graver.

We need back badly Reily and soon Robles just to cut the fat for God's sake.

Why can't we get the kid Saamad up here already. He's doing well no?!?!
