You police it by drilling some of their guys, but that has never been what we do. We always get hit WAY more than we hit. Robles was tired of it so he did it on his own. Imagine trying to rehab and injury and every fucking game you play in AAA they throw at you. I wouldn't have thrown the bat, I'd have run out their and Nolan Ryan'd his ass.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 3:51 amThe history with Estes is a given.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 3:44 amIf there is a history of Estes throwing at him then the ump should have let him know that another one would be an automatic ejection.
Remember that time Griffey threw his bat at the pitcher on a swing...
He's been hit 5 times by the same team alone.
I don't really know how you police that. But Victor clearly took it in his own hands and I don't blame him.
Victor Robles gets hit for the 5th game in a row, throws bat at pitcher (not kidding)

This past Saturday when I was playing tournament ball (slow pitch) the opposing team sent two straight lasers back at our pitcher, and no apologies. Needless to say, he was pissed and expected us to retaliate. I was due up fourth the next inning and was prepared to do it but our first hitter took care of it. The benches emptied, and I went over to their players and said look, you did it twice even if accidentally, we retaliated once, nobody got hurt, and it's done. That's how it should be.

Most of my Pitchers wouldn't let us, unless they gave the green light. The last two in particular, both had real quick gloves, and there were times they didn't want protected. But once they did? It's on. I've dotted my fair share of Pitchers...but usually just buzzed the tower a bit or hit it by their feet. But, you are making an accurate comparison. That stuff just can't go on unchecked. This organization seems to flat out not care. Hit all of our guys you want, no biggie. The guy was at a AAA game that doesn't matter for shit trying to rehab and injury that cost him most of the season. After the second time he got hit? We should have hit the first three guys they sent to the plate the next half inning.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 6:43 pmThis past Saturday when I was playing tournament ball (slow pitch) the opposing team sent two straight lasers back at our pitcher, and no apologies. The umps are total trash. They didn't warn that punk Estes He plunked him twice and then the next game throws at him 2 more times even though they were called "swings or fouls". Total trash. And all these pansy ass writers are saying there is going o be a severe suspension. Fk that look at the context. Estes probably should have been ran after the 2nd plunk. And then after the 1st plunk in the next game. The other pitcher that plunked him in the 1st AB the next game = ran. 3 plunks in 5 ABs is beyond fk all and Estes 4 punks in what 6-7 ABS. These f-ing douche writers acting like they think he should be suspended for the rest of the season or weeks are beyond fucks.
Pitcher attacked and hit him with a dangerous weapon 5 freaking times. He threw his bat in frustration, and it struck nobody. If he is suspended any sort of length of time? I might have to bow out on this sissy sport.

He’s been suspended by MLB for ten games.
I don’t know that we need him anyway.

Ten games for standing up for himself when his organization and team wouldn't. Joke.Southpaw773 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 8:06 pmHe’s been suspended by MLB for ten games.

The only job he'd have is to start in right field against a left-handed starter and pinch hit in similar situations and for all we know, he might well suck. I think we can make do with Canzone who is now 11-43 against lefties.Southpaw773 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 8:06 pmHe’s been suspended by MLB for ten games.

He received a 10 game suspension at the Major League level that the Mariners would need to have him serve and play a man down (we don't get a call up another player to replace him). He was rightfully suspended and he is rightfully appealing the suspension, your numbers aren't completely correct but he was thrown at way too many times in too few of AB's and that should be taken into account as well.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 6:06 amThe umps are total trash. I don't understand how throwing the bat is any worse than a hit by pitch, I would rather the batter throw the bat at me from 60 feet than a baseball as hard as they can at 60 feet, the bat would be easy to dodge. If he charged the mound and swung the bat at the pitcher thats a completely different story.

You don't know that we need him?? Take a peek at who's in the lineup in right field today.Southpaw773 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 8:06 pmHe’s been suspended by MLB for ten games.

It was a dumb thing to do but people are acting like it's so dangerous who can't get out of a way of a thrown bat 60 ft away.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 8:13 pmTen games for standing up for himself when his organization and team wouldn't.
