Upcoming home stand
Upcoming home stand
Jerry has a day and no time or distance restrictions. I personally would shake it up because they need it. You’ve heard it before but I don’t care:
Garver out. … Ford in
Moore out. … Rivas in
Salano out. … Taylor in
Calzone 10 day. …. Willimson in
Pitching. … Prayer
Much better roster flexibility and less strikeouts
“If you take care of the little things the big things take care of themselves “. Perhaps a hard nosed manager might shake us out ‘‘this inconsistent performance but we still have those prospects. Sorry. Can’t help myself

Re: Upcoming home stand
As i and others stated at the time Jerry already failed by not fixing the bullpen before the deadline. In two of the last three games we witnessed Legumina and Saucedo brought into close games and turn them into blow-out losses. Going halfway is the worst thing you can do.

Yup. Mentioned yesterday that we could have added a proven flamethrower but Jerry wanted to hang on to those contactsSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 11:10 pmAs i and others stated at the time Jerry already failed by not fixing the bullpen before the deadline. There has to be something in the farm system better than Legumina, Kowar and Saucedo. If not, then is it still possible to make a trade for just some mediocre bp arms? Those guys are killing the team.
I agree that they should cut bait on Moore and Garver, not sure about Solamo.

the only way they are adding a reliever from another team at this point is if they clear waiversSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Aug 21, 2025 12:50 amThere has to be something in the farm system better than Legumina, Kowar and Saucedo. I'm curious if they were in the bidding for Griffin Jax and what they might have been willing to give.
Re: Upcoming home stand
We are down a player in Cantzone. Still can't swing so down a player facing 3 lefties coming up. Gonna see Moore Garve and Solano during a playoff stretch. Loving it. Love seeing thier trash abs
Re: Upcoming home stand
They are converting 97-99 Emerson Hancock into the upgrade at BP. I wouldn't mind if they did the conversion not just for then end of season either. If he is max effort guy, he could go FB/change 2 pitch guy with an occasional slider for show. And this year as a starter he maxed at 98.6 MPH, as a BP guy? Does that go up? Worth the shot.

What's your source on this?Pharmabro wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 5:52 amThey are converting 97-99 Emerson Hancock into the upgrade at BP. This is something I've been wondering about. I've been sort of diving into the pitch data on Baseball Savant the last few weeks, trying to understand pitch shapes a little bit better, and it seems like Hancock's slider could be a plus pitch, and maybe his changeup as well. And we've seen his fastball velocity jump up to 97 at times, so maybe shorter stints in relief could be the key to unlocking that.
