Our High School field was 365 down the line and 485 to center. Lots of triples and inside the parkers there.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Aug 29, 2025 3:34 amWere you the one who suggested having no outfield wall but just a contnuous field? That would be the best case but MLB would never approve such a ballpark. It would be interesting to see how deep the outfielders would play...

Re: Will Cal be #1?
would you consider it to have generated more or less offense, or could you tell? I believe that was my question before. I wondered if not having walls might actually increase offenseCaptain 97 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 5:23 pmOur High School field was 365 down the line and 485 to center. My guess is budget and trying to fit a baseball field in an already existing area with fencing.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 5:42 pmWhy in the hell did they make is so huge. How about putting shrubs and small trees in the outfield just to make things a little more random and interesting?

I have always advocated for a moat filled with alligators for the warning track.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 6:52 pmHow about putting shrubs and small trees in the outfield just to make things a little more random and interesting?

It was just the space that was there. The field is still in the same spot but they have since added a second closer fence. I think I saw two hit out in my 4 years there. Both right down the line. It was the only field we had so we used the area in deep center for the C-team to practice infield.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 5:42 pmWhy in the hell did they make is so huge. Well i don't know if the players union would go for that, but perhaps a babbling brook with little fishies would be okay.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 7:06 pmI have always advocated for a moat filled with alligators for the warning track.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 6:52 pmHow about putting shrubs and small trees in the outfield just to make things a little more random and interesting?
