No injuries on offense Sunday....Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 4:27 pmyeah, scored 91 points in their first two games, and then 86 in their next five
he has put points on the board and in the beginning of a season as the new OCKubiak's offensive unit struggled in 2024, though not without reason. After a hot start, injuries took hold, forcing the Saints to play without Derek Carr, Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and other key figures for significant portions of the season.

David Carr was slinging it all over the yard in the first halves of the games you might be thinking of as when Kubiak had success. After week two? Not so much. This Kubiak is a master run game guy just isn't backed by any more facts than the fact that this Organization and the local media want it to be true.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 2:46 pmI don't mean to defend Kubiak but looking at the highlights I'm thinking, its really not that hard to try and envision what the seahawk offense is supposed to look like, heck there's an example on the other side of the field, the damn offense is named after that coaches father. It could be Kubiak doesn't know what he is doing but he did run it with some success with the Saints last season. You look at the 49ers, they have a qb that chucks the ball downfield and receivers to catch it. The seahawks don't match up. Honestly the pieces they have along those lines are development pieces. MM or JS isn't going to admit to any of this but I just see them trying to install an offensive system without really having the pieces to run it.
The Saints finished the season 3 and 12 last year after a surprising 2 and 0 start. They averaged 114.9 rushing yards per game. Not bad, but they were also a 5 win team, so maybe they should have played a more modern offense? The Cowboys were considered a poor rushing offense last year. They averaged only 14 yards per game less than NO.
The Saints were 23 in the NFL in passing offense and 24th in total offense. But yeah, all we needed was Kubiak and his Cronies and all would be fixed.

By the way, I realize 114 yards per game passing is a big deal when we averaged 95. But are those 19 yards worth it when the difference in passing offenses was 31 yards in favor of Seattle?
Baltimore averaged 188, Philly 179, Washington 154, Tampa 149, the Packers 146, the Cardinals 144, the Colts 137, the Bills 131, Atlanta 130, Pitt 127, and SF 127. 114 loses some luster when I look at that.
The Seahawks and that Clown Grubb? Scored 22.1 points a game and he had to go. The Saints and Kubiak scored 19.9. What a genius Kubiak was.
The fact that Kubiak is painted as a savior cracked me up all Summer, but it's all you guys wanted to hear. Grubb bad Kubiak good. That is the bullshit Wyman and Bob and John Schneider shoved down our throats, so it must be true?
We gained more yards and scored more points than the Saints, but their OC was the Hero to fix what our OC fucked up. The only thing missing in that is logic. Looking back I wish Grubb would have given MM his wish and ran more. Our draft pick would have been so much better as a 7 and 10 team than a 10 and 7 team.

So maybe this season he's taking the opposite approach and we'll average 17 points per game in the first two games and then 46 per game over the next five. I like it.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 4:27 pmyeah, scored 91 points in their first two games, and then 86 in their next five

I think that this was as much a glorified preseason game as anything (we're actually 12th in points scored despite being 29th in total yards if you can believe that) and because of how things went on Sunday, the offense needs to go into Shittsburgh and light them up. And considering that we've become a much better road team than home, we should be optimistic.
Now, if they don't and we end up two games behind the rest of the division after two games, the season's pretty much over.

So, he's waiting until week three to throw the ball? Great idea. Again, they went off for two weeks because Carr was a mad bomber in two straight first halves. The losing started when Kubiak channeled his inner Tom Osborne. He just did that a lot sooner here. How lucky we are.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 5:51 pmSo maybe this season he's taking the opposite approach and we'll average 17 points per game in the first two games and then 46 per game over the next five. Honestly, this team just baffles me. Sure, it's a work in progress, but it just seems to me that they don't have the personnel.
And the 'new' coaches and the 'new' approach... it may come together at some point but I'm convinced that without the personnel it's not going to happen.
I'm waxing nostalgia but the PC early years truly were lightning in a bottle.

Again, wake me up when our Pre-Season is over. I forgot we had different rules than the rest of the league. So many excuses, so little time to read them all. Jesus. No one told most of the NFL that week one was pre-season.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 5:57 pmI think that this was as much a glorified preseason game as anything (we're actually 12th in points scored if you can believe that) and because of how things went on Sunday, the offense needs to go into Shittsburgh and light them up. 29th of 32 in total yards. I guess those other 28 teams remembered the pre-season was not four games long anymore.
30 teams held the ball longer than our 22:02. Miami was almost a full minute left. Let's hope Miami thinks the pre-seasons extends to next week.
Just stop it with the excuses. Two missed FGs, the Niners were down to one legit WR and two backup TEs in the second half, and instead of putting them away? We played scared fucking football. And you think it's because we needed another Pre-Season game and that somehow going to Pittsburgh and playing a 10 am EST game there will cure what ails us? Based on what evidence? Would it be the amazing offensive success Kubiak had last year with NO, or the success he had last week at home against the Niners?
Blind faith. Something Seattle fans are very good at.

I thought it was bullshit and wondered why every O lineman that sucked for multiple seasons like Haynes were created by God with one purpose in life: To play O line in Kubiak's magical systems.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 5:43 pmBy the way, I realize 114 yards per game passing is a big deal when we averaged 95. Another way to look at it as that while there were a lot of other teams that came into the regular season very unprepared and played sloppy football (and again, 13 points is 12th in the league), the Whiners came in as one of the better-prepared teams in the league despite the injuries and we just happened to be their unfortunate opponent. And I'll concede that this means they're better coached.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 6:04 pmAgain, wake me up when our Pre-Season is over. The guys have played an entire game together. They know what they did wrong. The coaches know what they did wrong. Rodgers this past Sunday was probably like the killer in a slasher movie who gives you one more jump scare before he gets knocked into a wood chipper. We should expect a lot better outcome against the Squeelers. And if not, then we suck.
