Really Must win game thread

Post by D-train » Fri Sep 19, 2025 4:57 pm

If a team sweeps this series they will essentially have a 4 game lead with the tie breaker with only 6 games to go so would have about a 99% chance to win the division. The team that wins the series 2-1 will have a 2 game lead with 6 to go, still 90%+ chance to win the division given the team that loses the series would need one of these unlikely outcomes:

5-1 3-3 or worse
4-2 2-4 or worse
3-3 1-5 or worse
2-4 0-6
Highly unlikely vs As and Angels. Winner of this series will win the division. Book it.

And even if we win two out of three, we've got three games with the Rockies upcoming. HUGE opportunity over the next six games before we finish up against the Dodgers.

Mariner fans should prepare to be stabbed in the heart by a ruthless Hunter today.

Pretty simple. Guys have to step up and compete. I am guessing we need fewer strike outs and more balls in play. Relievers must pitch with command.

How is it that guys like Hunter Brown and other Asstro pitchers before him before him in a pitcher's park can put up ERAs like that but our pitchers can't? They seem to have the knack for not giving up big hits.

Yordan is injured. That should be to our advantage

This is now one-game-at-a-time territory.

Its already playoff baseball.

All that matters is tonight's game. Worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes.

The Astros have been masters of this situation down the years, they don't give a fk about tomorrow's game or the series as such.

They will be focused on every AB, every RISP situation etc for tonight only. I will bet £/$1,000 they won't make a single error in the field tonight.

They know how to do this and we have very little experience. Wilson in particular could cost us a game by not making courageous decisions if needed.

Hopefully he won't need to. Because if this team plays to its full potential, it should be our time, this time.

Go M's.

I am here to reassure you, that mariner fans have nothing to worry about, even if they lose the next series 2 to 1.

They play the wretched Rockies, three games after, with Houston playing away against the A’s, no pushover.

I say the baseball gods are finally with Seattle.

60% chance of winning the Division.

So sleep well, guys.

Maybe this prediction will come to pass.
