I bet there are several on that list that won't finish out their rookie contract. Dangle a Kirby/Sloan package and I'd bet you'd be surprised at what would come available.
Neither Sloan or Kirby are ever getting moved
Especially for any of the mid bats that will be both available and fit the budget.

Right exactly. I'm with you DT. As much as we'd all love the local boy to come home, if you can develop home grown pitching you keep it, especially this Sloan kid. Holy crap. Can you say ACE. All those guys, no room available. Somebody's gotta go. Kade potentially next year Sloan possibly in 2 maybe 3 years. Can't keep everybody. Who gets voted off M's island.
I don't see Bryce Miller lasting much longer in SEA and Luis Castillo probably has one more season. M's have Anderson and Cijntje joining Evans and Hancock as starting depth in 2026.
Castillo is owed almost $75M through 2028. He has -$7M trade value. Either we will have to do a salary dump or get Seby and Vargas types back for him.

Where are you getting that from? Castillo's value as a 3.5 ERA pitcher over 180 IP with a 1.18 WHIP 162/53 k/bb+hbp pitcher at $25m/yr is more than serviceable given today's prices

I don't see him going anywhere this offseason. But I do think the M's need to create some space in that rotation for 2027 and beyond and Luis entering age 34 could be dipping a bit more, seems like the likely casualty.

I think they move him and get a decent return (meaning 1 MLB contributor for 2-3 seasons)

Does anyone remember Skubal from his Seattle U days?
Yes, when I was there getting my Masters of Finance in the mid 1990s I watched him pitch a few times. Or maybe that was Rik Screwball...
Things went sideways for him when he shortened his first name. Big mistake...

See what TB wants for Caminero. That would be interesting. You know they ain't signing their guys long term. Hard to imagine Jerry re-signing all 4 of those guys + JC + Sloan + Kade. Somebody has to go in the next year or 2. Honestly I think we'd all love Witt too but what are the odds. Gotta dig that speed man. That's when you flip your top guys for either a Caminero or Witt.

that's what's interesting about the off season. Dipoto could stand pat or he could swing a significant trade, he has done both in the past. I really can't put odds to what he might do
