It's pretty discouraging to see Castillo throw 99 consistently in the '23 playoffs and dominate... but then fall all the way to 94 in the 5th inning 2 years later.

Same for Kirby dipping from 99 to 95.

Same for Logan throwing 98-99 last year and consistently being 95 this year.

I'm not sure what is happening with our pitcher's ability to maintain velo.

Skubal just threw 101 in the bottom of the 4th. I suppose he's had a ton of injuries so maybe that's just the precursor for more.

Wouldn't that indicate that they shouldn't have been throwing that hard early in their careers (at least in the cases of Kirby and Gilbert)?
