I don't care for the excessive off days because it makes it more about who has the better top end starters and back of the bullpen rather than who has the deepest staff. The tigers don't have near the overall Staff that the M's do but they can Start Skuball twice in 4 games and throw their back end relievers every single game because of the days off. The goal should be to have the playoffs represent the best overall teams and that's done by replicating the regular season as much as possible.

If you happen to have a dominant starter then I am going to be happy to try and use them as much as possible, like Randy in 1995. If the Mariners had been able to make it to the WS by pitching the crap out of Randy I wouldn't have felt guilty about it. I just don't get why all 3 possible remaining Mariners games vs Detroit are noon or 1 pm Pacific, but Yankees Bluejays are 4 and 5.
