Don't understand bringing in Speier in that spot after he puked last game. Why not Castillo or even Gilbert? Doesn't Dan understand the season is over and saving pitchers is useless?
Because they're RHP!

If you're taking Kirby out at all, it's to go get a dominant lefty. That's the only move

Mariners are way too in love with the fastball. I just really don't get the lack of secondaries on this pitching staff.

What just also happened is what happens when the best lefty you add to your bullpen is a geezer throwing 92 mph.

No more whining about it. A 1-0 victory would've been absolutely incredible odds for us. We were always going to need 2+. Now we need 3. Get to work

Be honest. If Dan leaves Kirby in and Carpenter hits a single, people would be crying that he should have brought Speier in.
That's just life. Always the second guess. Manager has to be able to trust his eyes, trust his instincts and say fuck it to everything else
He didn't trust his eyes or instinct though did he? He was hell bent on putting Speier up to face Carpenter. And they knew it and planned for it.

Fortunately he didn't do it in the 9th or the 11th or the 18th leaving us still with time and hope.

Game over. Julio did his job. Bullpen is shit. Letting go of Pomeranz was a massive mistake. He is having a lethal series for Cubs. Speier is complete shit. Carp owns us!!
How in the Fuck did Julio do his Job??????????????????????????????/

Julio hasn't done anything since game 2.

I wouldn't call that doing his job.

Good call Dan
It was something that was predictable. One thing you don't want is predictable. You can prepare for predictable.
Dan out smarted himself right there. Spier is the next to last guy I bring in there.
