These playoffs have really driven home what a load of drivel we've been fed the past 3-4 years about how great this pitching staff is, and in particular the two darlings Kirby and Gilbert, who have been above average but nothing close to deserving all the accolades thrown at them by the local press. Just looking at their road splits over the years tells the story. Bryan Woo is the closest thing to an ace the Mariners have had since Felix and the rest of them are completely unreliable.

It would be one thing if the Jays with their backs against the wall broke out the whooping sticks, but the Mariners REALLY beat themselves tonight.
Those double plays to end 3 innings in a row... Eesh
And if I'm them I'm not feeling that bad about tomorrow. There's no reason they can't beat them, get a few balls to go their way

That's true. I was actually thinking that about YeOldSavage, that the difference between his great statline today and one he'd have nightmares for life was if those balls slipped through the infield, or if the couple warning track shots had gotten out.
The Mariners were making enough contact to potentially win, but didn't have the luck.
Because.... That's baseball!

Its odd, the games haven't been close but the series has been. Really isn't much separating the two teams. I bet the players feel that way.

And not having Woo hasn't been much of a factor. If Woo is in the rotation you're not using Miller.

It was meant to be
“I think it's a beautiful thing,” Julio Rodríguez said. “The baseball gods wanted us to be here, and I feel like everybody's really excited for tomorrow.”

Ooops  Sorry everyone, changed my original post in case anyone was hanging on my every word

Does get strange in October as we put our clocks back next weekend to what should be the correct UK time - GMT..... Which is a week before you do your changes. So we are 8 ahead this week, then 7 ahead next week, then back to 8 ahead the week after.

I have missed World Series start times in the past especially in the pre-internet era.

Not been a problem with Mariners games in the past.

How about Ernie Clement, claims he probably was the worst hitter in baseball in 2022, hit .188, ops .452. Signs a minor league deal with Toronto. He puts up Ben Williamson type numbers but also 4 WAR, gold glove finalist and has been a terror in the post season.

Yup - where was the bs fox coverage saying oh the M's should have a lot more runs like they did for the bj's in game 5??? Instead its great pitching by them.. lol the coverage has been a joke...
