Skubal will probably get traded but he isn't coming here. My guess is Yankees or Giants, maybe the Red Sox or Rangers.

Arozarena has one more year of team control. It's right there in Baseball-Reference. He's a 3-4 WAR player. If they want to move him, he'll have a market, and there's a reasonable case for making that move.
And they wouldn't be offer him a QO if it was available. They would be on the hook for $23mil?

It will be the dodgers and they will extend him, Boras has the dodgers on speed dial lol

Yes but for who. Any chance Cleveland would take him for Kwan. I so want him. The dude does not strikeout & gets on base. You trade for Kwan, re-sign Naylor there's your 1-2 then you get into Cal & Julio 3-4. Definitely gotta be in the market for another leadoff guy here. Randy clearly didn't work.

Did you watch Randy hit in the playoffs. Enough said. Dude couldn't hit a beach ball with a wiffle bat. Sorry. I need contact. I gotta have more contact. Throw Naylor up there I don't care. Randy has no business batting leadoff. If we can find a taker for Randy I'm shipping him off in a heartbeat. Nuff said.

We could easily trade for him as we have the pieces - but can we re-sign him? I'd only want to trade our people if we have a window to work out an extension otherwise the trade fails.

I know where everyone's pessimism is coming from though - I share it too. Realistically we:

Let Suarez walk
Lose Naylor to FA
Lose Polanco to FA

We put Williamson at 3B
Keep Randy
Keep pitching staff as it is
Sign someone to start the year at 2B while waiting for Emerson to be ready to take it over
Sign someone to platoon with Raley at 1B
Sign a bullpen arm or two.
Keep Robles to platoon with Canzone

Keep payroll in the 150-160 range. We keep the status quo and realize this year was lightening in a bottle while the team/fo try to remain 'competitive'.

Can always hope it changes though - maybe Stanton wakes up and realizes as I said before - i'm f'ing 70+ what am I going to do with my billions when I die in 10-15 years - I'd love to die the owner that brought a WS to Seattle... can always hope....:)

Yep, which is exactly why this offseason is the time to trade him.

The QO doesn't come into it. He's going into his Arb3 year. Spotrac right now estimates he'll make 16m which is probably in the ballpark of where he'll end up. If the M's don't want to pay that they can trade him or non-tender him. I think there's a good chance they'll move him, especially if they want to sign Naylor, but that's just a guess on my part.
