Can't believe the Pats this season. I guess firing their DEI HC who said the NFL racist and hiring Vrabel was a smart move.
Would it be possible in your mind to hire and fire a black person without it involving DEI?
That's why DEI is such a bad approach to hiring and academic appointments. It creates this environment of distrust because nobody knows whether or not the colored person made it on their own merit or not.
That doesnt mean you are required to believe they all are

Anyway... It's interesting MM dialed up a lot of blitzes the first half, something he doesn't normally do. I don't think it's going to be that easy for the league to figure him out
By halftime, the Seahawks had brought nine blitzes — and sacked Brissett on four of them, including for a pair of strip sacks returned for touchdowns. The fumbles were on Brissett, who needed to do more to protect the ball. But allowing four sacks on nine blitzes speaks to larger problems

Lots of funny bounces today, luckily most of them our way at home. You want to say this run is for real with our depth and injuries and roster shuffle so far, good game management and coaching, but it's going to take beating the Rams on the road next week for me to believe we have finally schemed them.

They have been pinching a loaf on us for years. Hope the fix isn't in for them to beat us 26-25 on the final play. What I like about this team is PC isn't running a game plan, so maybe we have a shot next week.

TB loses, that helps with the playoffs bracketing

I don't think he was hired because he was black but I disagree with this:
During his introductory press conference as the first Black head coach of the New England Patriots, Jerod Mayo addressed the topic of race, stating:
"I do see color because I believe if you don't see color, you can't see racism".
He explained that acknowledging race and differences is important for understanding people and addressing societal problems.
This stance generated discussion and mixed reactions, but it was a statement about his approach to diversity and inclusion, not an indication of racism. News coverage of his comments emphasizes his desire to foster an inclusive environment and use his platform to create equity and opportunity.
OTOH
Todd Bowles has expressed that he believes the media makes too "big a deal" out of race in the NFL and has downplayed its significance in his coaching career. He stated, "We coach ball. We don't look at color".
In a 2022 press conference, when asked about facing another Black head coach, Mike Tomlin, Bowles suggested that highlighting race in this way implies it's an unusual event, stating, "I think the minute you guys stop making a big deal about it, everybody else will as well". He believes such focus diminishes the achievements of Black coaches and that it should be a normal occurrence. Bowles emphasized that being a good coach is paramount, regardless of race.
Guess which guy is still a head coach and headed to the playoffs. Huh funny how that works when you focus on being a good HC instead of a DEI crusader.

Did they mostly go the seahawks way? They gave up two TDs on TOs. That's what's interesting, they have had an issue with TOs but they still are just crushing opponents. Like the Texans game. Their two losses have been lucky bounces rather than wins .

We lost to them in OT and beat them last season. I am not afraid of them in the least after watching our past two games. We are awesome on the road.

The two bounces to Lawrence were like it was a basketball instead of a football but yeah when you score 38 points in the first half you don't need any bounces...

To be able to run the ball when your opponent is expecting you to run it is considered a key to winning. I think that's what we just saw. I think that's a scary development for their opponents coming up. If the run game is getting as difficult to stop as the pass game

Hawks and Rams are 1 and 2 in NFL.com power rankings and Profootball network rankings. Feels like a big game Sunday. If there was a NFL game day (there should be) like College Game Day, I think it would be in LA in a week.

Yeah, was wondering if maybe they just wanted to hype the game, ranking them like that. Seriously, I finally feel free to ponder on it, no more looking past someone else guilt! Thats going to be a game, my guarantee
