Plus Jerry would have to admit he was an idiot for trading him
Indeed. Pride goeth before the fall.
He brought Geno back, probably a worse looking trade
True.

She's still pretty hot lol... There is the club house stuff, whether that's a big deal or not. Basically I believe he's viewed as a primadonna. Do you want to deal with that?

Depending on if he really is available... We can pick at the various negative aspects. The truth is it's not often a truly premium bat becomes available. When they do you need to consider it. Dipotos due diligence is to try and fit him in

A 32-year-old woman can look very hot at 32-year-old baseball player with baggage owed almost 100 million not so much

I’d be in on him. He is a good bat and should only play 2B from here on out Baseball savant has his arm below average 41st percentile and the sprint speed has gone down to 26.6 FPS which is 29th percentile. He is a lot more like Polo than I had initially thought.

polo has a 42 percentile on the sprint speed, and 20th percentile arm.

Marte is a better defender and better bat vs Polo at least on paper.

If we could get him for Cole Young plus filler I would be OK with it. With no salary comp from Az. If they wanted another top 100 I would have them pay some of the salary down. That way they could add Ketel, and Skubal, and a BP guy and Naylor. There is no reason not to push all the chips in and try to win a WS. That is the goal.

That's our goal, not their goal....zero chance we even ask about him...only reason his name will come up is when they talk about how happy they are that they aren't the D backs trying to trade him.

OK, now I’m against it. Nothing that has been mentioned scared me until that. That’s kind of JP like, isn’t it?

I mean he was 21 and 22 Y/O when he did that lol.

Regardless, the $$ and age are prohibitive.

Donovan seems the way more likely option. Not as good as Marte, but they don't need Marte considering what it would take to get him.
